Recap: Gotta shake ya head sometimes at these hardcore, real street rappers too afraid to get in touch with their funny bone when it comes to battle rap. I mean, if you got a witty side to you (or if your crew constantly says you’re funny), embrace it and write it into your raps. That option allows you to flex your versatility and it might be difference between winning and losing battles. Not that a mostly gritty-punching Tre Poundz wasn’t solid throughout this Street Staus 3-rounder versus B Magic, but damn if he didn’t have pne too many pedestrian bars and if the best bars he spit here weren’t on the humorous side. Either way, with Magic incorporating wicked, wicked gun sounds, a fly Superman scheme and his usual diet of consistently spicy punchlines to this match, even if his opponent did his best Bernie Mac impression, he probably would’ve lost anyway.
Verdict: B Magic (W) 3-0
Favorite line: B Magic – “Boy, you my son…but that bullshit is from ya momma side!”
