Recap: Anyone who’s ever peeped the punch-lit Brixx Belvy before would know that he’s more than capable of bringing that competitive fire to Chef Trez. And that’s the case here as in this 3-rounder from Rap Grid, the SONS vet delivers a fiery dish of standout (“Push a plate back on Chef, I ordered fries wit it!”) punches and nifty wordplay that more than met the crowd and his opponent’s approval. However, Trez being Trez, was just too much here what with the Cave Gang general dropping haymakers with ready abandon via a stinging mix of jaunty name flips/personals, heated (“If plotting what you trying to do, you’ll get one .40 put to ya brain, you got a genius I.Q.!”) gun bars, potent trap talk and of course, a couple of fire rebuttals and other lofty punchlines. Mark it down as a debatable 1st followed by the Chef earnestly taking the latter two rounds.
Verdict: Chef Trez (W) 2-1
Favorite line: Chef Trez – “Fuck it, I’ll stick a knife in Brixx [bricks] like I’m testing the quality!”
