Recap: Can’t help but think of what this battle would’ve been like had gun line feen Rum Nitty been around during Cortez’s Grind Time days, when the Brooklyn rapper was known almost exclusively for his rapid flows of mayhem. That might’ve been interesting. Nonetheless, an easy decision here as Nitty’s explosive punchline game, matched up with some stinging name flips and of course, a plethora of perpetually hazardous gun lines that always seem to be on a killing spree in the first two rounds easily beats a solid, but at times flow-challenged showing by Cort. A more versatile and punch-heavy Cortez did put together a clean and more potent 3rd round to avoid the shutout, but by then his opponent already knew he had it in the bag.
Verdict: Rum Nitty (W) 2-1
