Recap: There’s no denying that Midnight Madness (with a pugnacious assist from Twitter Spaces) has provided a competitive lift to battle rap and this much heralded matchup between Nu Jerzey Twork and Snake Eyez pushes the case as both battlers get busy throughout with a plethora of hard, aggressive rhymes and fiery personals laced with all sorts of steely command and mocking tones. A battle that also provided a rudimentary backdrop of Twork coming off a choke in his last bout and Hardcore belt champ Snake (who didn’t put the belt on the line here) participating in a brawl when we last saw him, stayed close throughout even while NJT rapped longer than his opponent for all 3 rounds. Still, after a crazy dope-on-both-sides, but debatable round 1 Twork’s more direct heaters, gang of gritty punchlines, wicked gun bars/schemes and head-ringing haymakers would edge him both of the latter rounds the win over over Snake’s often raucous, but not as steadily hitting punches.
Verdict: Nu Jerzey Twork (W) 2-1
