Geechi Gotti and Hitman Holla [DEBATABLE]

Recap: From Bags and Bodies, a highly anticipated three-round battle rap contest between Hitman Holla and Geechi Gotti didn’t quite meet expectations, but still ended up being a high-energy affair that kept the crowd hyped. As both emcees brought the energy, bravado and aggression to the stage, making it altogether a thrilling and balanced showdown.

Geechi would set the tone in Round 1 with a bunch of sturdy gang talk, fiery punches/storytelling bars and sharp (“He in there looking for a fade, bitch they already lined yo up!”) personals that lit up the scoreboard in term of haymakers, edging out Hitman’s gritty punchlines, fierce personals and braggadocious bars through sheer impact and consistency. However, Hitman’s performance in the second round would shift the dynamic. The St. Louis vet leaning into his funny bone with a plethora of witty/hard-hitting personals, flexing Gotti-isms, boastful barbs and wily schemes, while Gotti countered with everything from clever freestyles to engaging rebuttals to humorous personals that even targeted Hitman’s girlfriend )who was right there in the crowd). The result was a deadlock for round 2, as both rappers delivered equally memorable moments and tallied up equally equivalent bar efficiency.

In the decisive third round, Hitman’s consistency and punchline-heavy approach gave him a clear victory. Indeed, while Geechi’s hard street tales and righteous storytelling were pretty solid overall, they couldn’t match the potency of Hitman’s lyrical barrage of wicked personals, boastful barbs, hitting schemes and witty puns, which would edge him the round and force a tie.

Verdict: TIE
