Recap: While it’s common knowledge that a “bad” Charlie Clips still has the gusto to get through and win battles via his amazing freestyle ability, such wouldn’t be the case here. The Harlem vet, after edging round 1 of this 3-round “The Cut” bout from T-Top/URL with just enough wicked personals, wit, solid schemes and off-the dome (freestyling and pointing out that Casey Jay stole that ‘Anthony Davis’ line is something few battle rappers can do) theatrics to get past a pretty solid round from his opponent, before getting somewhat lazy and overdoing (esp. when it came to whining to T-Top about how he put together the battle) the freestyles in the latter rounds. Casey, versatile throughout her 3 rounds when it came to punches, personals and mayhem-lit darts, but matching Charlie’s mostly pedestrian synergy in round 2 to force a tie there, before dishing a punch-heavy 3rd that in the face of a pretty long and lackluster turn by Clips, handily gave the Bardashian the win there and allowed for a debatable.
Verdict: TIE
