Recap: Damn, they didn’t even want to hug it out at the end. Oh well. From the Riot Battle League, former ‘Mafia’ co-horts Geechi Gotti and Coffee Brown let it all out for 3 rounds and as to be expected, it’s a highly personal and competitive affair. Coffee, always aggressive in her battles, but seemingly too a little hostile here, got all up in Gotti’s grill throughout the match, all the while dishing a stinging barrage of spirited gun bars, hardbody personals laced with rich metaphors and gritty punchlines. While a slightly more subdued, but still heated Geechi offered up blistering takes on his opponent’s alleged sex (“Jazz said if she fucked Smack she could own half the company, that pussy must be beautiful, this dumb bitch was fucking ‘P’ and couldn’t get one percent of the Crucibles!”) tales when he wasn’t also scoring with a gang of hard street rhymes, gripping name flips, righteous personals and potent punchlines. Add some solid rebuttals to the mix from sides in the bout and altogether you’re left with a battle that lived to its hype when it comes to grudge matches. Nonetheless, no winner here as after the slightly more haymaker/performance/multi-faceted-lit Geechi edged round 1, before a higher-dosed Coffee returned the favor in round 2. An equally crowd-buzzing, punch-crazy and efficient 3rd by both battlers makes this one a debatable.
