Recap: From KOTD, it’s funny sometimes reading battle rap commenters spout their ignorance with comments like “T-Rex is too direct, that’s why he lost”…right, ok . Either way in this style clash between Rex and Chilla Jones, the Dot Mobb leader’s penchant for hard-hitting trap talk, righteous darts, gritty/braggadocio street bars and crafty (tho he did have a few reaches here and there) wordplay are just enough to edge rounds 1 and 3 for the win. The more ‘intricate’ and personal/scheme-rich Jones, while pretty solid throughout, too often (esp. in the decidin round 3) suffering from pedestrian bars and elongated rounds to beat back his opponent.
Verdict: T-Rex (W) 2-1
Favorite line: T-Rex – “When you spitting your raps, just don’t spit when you rap, any disrespect I can’t make these nigga’s relax, they gonna end up getting you clapped, now you out here trending, not on Twitter but on Citizen’s app!”
