Recap: From We Go Hard, an opener that featured a gang of nifty wordplay, gritty punches, piercing name flips and flexing personals made for a debatable round 1, but from there Steams just couldn’t keep up. Th3 Saga getting in his bag (while taking advantage of quite a few reaches from his opponent) and going ham with a plethora of crazy, nuanced set-up/punchlines, boastful barbs, Godly screeds, hitting personals, clever name flips and other sizzling repartee/performance-rich bars to take both (round 2 with its sublime bar structure, themes and set-up/punchlines being a classic) of the latter two rounds over a still solid, but not as substantive or consistent Steams for the win.
Verdict: Th3 Saga (W) 2-1
Favorite line: Th3 Saga – “If you don’t wanna see the route of a psycho dead it, a cold corpse, but if I go psycho with a 762 it ain’t gonna spike your credit!”
