Recap: Very likely the most intriguing battle on the 2020 URL Kings vs. Queens card, seeing as they once were a real-life couple, Charlie Clips vs. Couture is not only a chance to see who can rap batter, but also witness the two air all their dirty laundry for all the world to see too. That said, outside of some slip-ups in each round by Clips (which were made up for with plenty of nimble freestyles and sound effects), the bout certainly lived up to the hype with both emcees going all the way in when it came to stinging personals that included (esp. Couture during what was a stellar 2nd round) graphic sexcapades, battle rap couple life, rich storytelling and responsible parenting. Add to that a plethora of heavy-handed punchlines, some fierce wordplay, witty barbs, fire name flips/schemes and boastful shiners and you’re left with an entertaining and competitive matchup with a punch-heavier Clips taking the 1st round, the extra spicy personals of Couture taking the 2nd round and despite Clips getting off to a bit of a sluggish start, with an equal amount of haymakers in a final round that featured a variety of sizzling themes overall, we can call this one a draw.
