JC defeats Bill Collector

Recap: From The Battle Academy, in between dapping up his opponent Bill Collector a gazillion times for a variety of unknown reasons, JC utilizes a hard-hitting barrage of steely wordplay, fire/mayhem-lit set-up/punchlines, flexing gun bars, piercing metaphors and even a few solid personals to handily take all 3 rounds and the win from a BC, who while often potent with the wit and wily personals, otherwise was way too mired in subpar punches and meandering/mediocre schemes to stand a chance.

Verdict: JC (W) 3-0

Favorite line: JC – “This the same nigga who brought a fake gun to a fake beef?, oh he wilding, you get one take, you come around us and pump fake?, we fouling!”

Bill Collector defeats Coach Corleone

Recap: From T.O.S Battle League, in a 3-round bout littered with plenty of aggression. solid personals/schemes and braggadocio punches, but also a boatload of cookie-cutter raps and pedestrian bars on both sides. After the two split the first couple of rounds, a more versatile, gritty and slightly more steady hitting Bill Collector manages to hang on and edge the 3rd round for the win over Coach Corleone.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “You got RBE boasting you, weird ass Wing coaching you, all these semi-beneficial opportunities appraching you, but you ready to crash out ‘cuz a blogger roasting you?!, take that sweaty-ass hat off and be more sociable!”

Bill Collector defeats Chess

Recap: From The Battle Academy, scoring left and right with a bunch of hitting name flips, wily/animated punches, stinging personals, righteous heat and witty puns, but also helped by am unforced error-prone Chess (after getting edged in round 1) cutting both his 2nd and 3rd rounds short, a consistently flow ready and spicy Bill Collector earns the 30 in this mostly one-sided 3-rounder.

Verdict: Bill Colletor (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “Don’t nobody ever try to play me nigga, like Nick Cannon songs!”

Tay Roc defeats Bill Collector

Recap: From BMBL, Tay Roc and Bill Collector meet up for 3 rounds in Detroit and while competitive and crowd-pleasing throughout, the verdict here was an easy one. Bill, wily as ever with a plethora of spririted punchlines, witty barbs and solid personals, gets credit for an earnest performance. While Roc, continuing an electric run this year that’s seen him battle more often than ever before, ran through a gamut of graphic/mayhem-lit darts, hard-hitting g un bars, well-tailored name flips and piercing 4-bar set-up/punches that more often than not made their mark. However, helped by an opponent who ran out of gas punch-efficient wise in round 1, it’s the slightly more haymaker-lit Roc who takes round 1 before the Cave Man capo handily takes round 2 as well with an even more punch-drunk and sublime turn for the win. A pretty solid, but not as nearly turned up run by Roc in round 3 gets overrun by Bill’s more workmanship and personal-lit showing to avoid the 30.

Verdict: Tay Roc (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Tay Roc – “You call yourself the G code, what’s strange about it, what the fuck is a G code to a nigga who beat the game without it?!”

Bill Collector and Rosenberg Raw [DEBATABLE]

Recap: The longest grudge match in battle rap finally takes place and it has audio issues?!? Not a good look for The Battle Academy. Nonetheless and as expected, Rosenberg Raw versus Bill Collector (“Even URL tried to offer you a deal, and you was about to risk it all for the worst plate, perfect Gentlemen, this nigga was reaching for Bill on the first date!”) was still a goodie as the two ‘frenemies’ each got their shit off via a boatload of battle rap associated/who-did-more-for-who career allegations, gritty punchlines, hard-hitting personals and other drama surrounding crews, near fights, battle rap leagues and even family. An aggressive and haymaker-lit battle with both battlers having to get a lot off their chest due to their longstanding grudge, with each round being equally efficient and serving up zero miscues, we’re going to call this one a debatable.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Rosenberg Raw – “You a freak show and everything he ever did was out of bounds, how the fuck you put a black eye on the city and you from out of town?!”

Rum Nitty defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Having just signed a 2-year contract with URL, the feeling here is that Bill Collector’s success on Smack will largely depend on his ability to display the same kind of consistency and mettle that we saw during the recent Season 1 KOTD tournament that he won. Easier said than done of course, but it really comes down to how bad Bill wants it. As besides showing more consistency, for Bill it also means more performance-lit bars, clever wit, hard-hitting personals, no more recycling bars and a strong freestyle game. Lanes of which Bill showed pockets of (esp. to start his 3rd round) here in this 3-round Traffic 5 battle vs. Rum Nitty, but once again exhibited an air of apathy (in this case too many weak name flips, subpar punches and reaches) that often times plagues his pen, thus leaving him with very little chance of beating the likes of Nitty. The Gun Line King using a plethora of sizzling metaphors, rich similes, sterling set-ups/gun bars, piercing wordplay, fiery personals, hitting punches and stellar name flips throughout to earn the 30.

Verdict: Rum Nitty (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Rum Nitty – “Scope on him, got me squinting through the lens…it’s an eye exam!”

Don Marino defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Showing off more performance with his punches while flexing with a wide array of hitting bars, in this close 1-rounder from Gates of the Garden, it’s a slightly more haymaker-lit and versatile Don Marino who beats back a very witty (esp. when it came to the Mexican jokes), but mostly one-dimensional Bill Collector.

Verdict: Don Marino (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Don Marino – “When you move how I move you don’t have to fight, they lift the gat and they spark it, the clip got a curve like a neck on an ostrich!”

K-Shine defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Rare to see a battler go up against Bill Collector and stand out with a more performance-heavy round. But in this competitive 1-rounder from The Battle Academy, K-Shine uses some eletric storytelling, a bunch of witty barbs/personals, gritty punchlines/gun bars and stifling name flips to beat back a pretty solid (esp. towards the end of his turn) overall and punch-heavy at times, but less consistent and much less stage-lit B.C.

Verdict: K-Shine (W) 1-0

Favorite line: K-Shine – “Just like a nigga, put an extension on Bill right after I got paid!”

Bill Collector defeats Dre Dennis (Rematch)

Recap: A rematch of their highly entertaining Verbal War Zone battle from 2019, Bill Collector and Dre Dennis bring the wit, praiseworthy punches and other accolades to this 3-round ‘The Nicest’ Compliment Battle. Noteworthy too for the two being a part of the same ‘Loud Boys’ clique as well as a well-crafted together 3rd round that showed off their symmetry, a close battle what with a debatable 2nd and 3rd round is edged overall by the slightly more punch-lit Bill in the 1st.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “My homie tough, he got the underground battle game in a cobra clutch, teach a new player to the game how to soldier up, giving them a platform to battle they favorite and show they stuff, bro even Tay Roc would be amazed at all teh doors you opened up!”

Bill Collector defeats Kang

Recap: In this rare 3-rounder from Gates of the Garden, a versatile Bill Collector uses a barrage of piercing punchlines, witty anecdotes/personals, self aggrandizing darts, boastful barbs and solid off-the-dome theatrics to take the first two rounds and the win over a pretty solid, aggressive, angle-lit, punch-heavy and altogether competitive Kang who despite the loss impressed throughout.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “I’m willing to go off on whatever he own because that mustache is only good for two things…police work or 70’s porn!”

Bill Collector and Mackk Myron [DEBATABLE]

Recap: I know it was only one or two bars, but Mackk Myron does a phenomenal Bill Collector impression. That said, in this tight Season 1 KOTD tournament battle, an often elite, personal-lit and witty punch game from Mackk versus the performance-heavy, unorthodox (“One time the plug gave me short China, boy was I Dumbfounded!”) punchlines/name flips from Bill equates to Mackk taking round 1 before the Loud Boys capo edged round 2 to split things going into the 3rd. The final round, which served up more of the high energy we’d seen from both battlers throughout the bout, ends up tied too as Bill and Mackk equally finessed with the haymakers during their identical alloted time.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Mackk Myron – “Now correct me, y’all think he about to beat me or something?, Bill my little brother he can’t beat me at nothing!”

Bill Collector defeats Madflex

Recap: From KOTD’s Season 1 tournament, against the intricate punches of Madflex, after a doppelganger-ish turn that saw him lose the opening round to his more consistently hitting opponent, Bill Collector gets back in his bag of witty barbs, spicy contorted punchlines and stinging performance bars and returns the favor to take each of the latter rounds for the win.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “Transphobic boss…I’ll fire IT!”

Bill Collector defeats Dunsh

Recap: From KOTD’s Season 1 tourney, I’ve never understood the Daylyt/Bill Collector comparison’s either as BC’s more eccentric punchlines/personals, witty barbs, underlying wordplay, creative gun bars and performance-rich darts effectively combine to take all 3 rounds here over Dunsh, who despite a bunch of trolling personals, nifty punches and a hell of an innovative round 2, had already been out-scored in the early rounds before choking away his 3rd.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “Angry girlfriend, I repeatedly burst texts [Tek’s]!”

Bill Collector defeats Pass

Recap: In a dope KOTD Season 1 tournament battle for the championship that was littered with hot punchlines, fiery wordplay, feelgood metaphors, piercing personals and head-ringing name flips from both sides, after the two split the opening rounds (had Bill Collector edging round 1 and Pass edging round 2), in what was a crazy and punch-lit 3rd round to decide it all, it’s a slightly more condensed and performance-lit BC who barely edges the final round for the win and the $100K check.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “You trying to get pass me nigga?, it’s tricky Pass…flea-flicker!”

XQZ defeats Bill Collector

Recap: First, props to XQZ for that “Office Space” bar, as a huge fan myself, I would love to see more of them in battle rap. Moving on, the judges were all on point here. Had the action-packed and slightly punch-heavier Bill Collector also taking the opening round, before getting sloppy with his flow and bars in both of the latter rounds (tho his rebuttals were nice as well as his freesttye ability, because that’s what the vets should be able to do when they find themselves trouble remembering their bars) and leaving his opponent, who was consistently witty and punch/angle-lit (esp. when it came to taking a different approach with the infamous ShowOut punch) throughout, with more than enough room to earn the win in this KOTD tournament S1W20 battle.

Verdict: XQZ (W) 2-1

Favorite line: XQZ – “Bill, we all watch porn so there’s nothing to worry about, just some days you gotta beat those insecurities out!”

Swave Sevah and Bill Collector [DEBATABLE]

Recap: A friendly-fire affair with a cameo appearance from Rosenberg Raw (whom Bill Collector, in a sudden change of heart, really wants to battle now) in round 3, this highly entertaining 3-rounder from RBE turned out to be a real goodie. Swave Sevah, excellently mixing it up throughout with a flexing punch game, pointed storytelling/street tutorials, witty personals and piercing set-ups, still came to win when he wasn’t constantly dapping up his opponent. While BC, ever the showman, parlayed his enthusiam for batlling his longtime friend with 3 sturdy rounds of rich performance bars, some dope chain punching/wordplay (including what seemed like a fierce Daylyt impression), fiery (“You should’ve just took on Bill…dine and dash!”) personals/punches and resident jokes. A fire battle all the way through the end, we got Bill edging a fire-on-both-sides round 1, Swave taking the 2nd and a debatable 3rd which fittingly makes this one a draw.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Swave Sevah – “No discretion, heart turns cold when I hold the weapon, lead off and re-load the Wesson and commit stickup’s with snub noses like Covid testing!”

Bill Collector defeats Sully Seventeen

Recap: Fire 1-rounder from the Gates between Bill Collector and Sully Seventeen as both battlers contributed to making the bout competitive with a gang of steely punchlines, dope name flips and righteous pontificating. However, more condensed with his ratio of haymakers, armed with some really explosive gun bars and also able to supply less filler than his opponent, in what was a close one, the edge here goes to BC.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “I’m from East-coast Compton, that’s a eral place but don’t Google it ‘cuz my people’s low!”

Bill Collector defeats Darange

Recap: Aggressively punching from all directions with some mocking personals and rigid gun bars mixed in, a consistently lit Bill Collector handily gets the win over an earnest, but mostly pedestrian Darange in this 1-rounder from GOTG.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “See the drip?, I’m on stage with the extra glo, you Spanish, so you wear Team Jordans, kleats, boots and Sketchers yo!”

Bill Collector defeats Gauge

Recap: From KOTD’s Season 1 tournament, a gang of raucous punchlines and upright personals by Bill Collector combined with a slick-talking and witty, but overtly flow-challenged Gauge gives the Norristown, PA, vet rounds 1 and 3 for the win.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “Yo, Hitman/Showoff bars, they be the worse rhymes, you said if you and Hutman were in the same building, you’d make me get my get-back on Hitman, why?, he ain’t do shit the first time!”

Bill Collector defeats Stack Almighty

Recap: If you run with KOTD giving Bill Collector a ‘perfect score’ and ‘95%’ of the vote in this judged tournament Season 1, Week 7 matchup, you’d swear that BC not only had the battle of his life, but he completely dominated. Except neither was the case here. Because not only have we seen better battles from Bill, but this bout against the ever bullish Stack Almighty was really close. But Bill still earned the vic tho. As after getting busy with the wordplay/similes and out-punching his opponent in an opening round that displayed some extreme focus, despite a fly rebutttal from Stack, Bill would still come back with screeds of excellent lyricism within a versatile barfest that would edge him round 2 for the win before Stack, slightly more condensed, hard-hitting and brazen with the bars throughout, would edge the final round with more consistently spicy darts to avoid getting shutout (tho it should be noted that BC did offer up a fire rebuttal of his own during the round).

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “He’s a beast?!, my calculations scientifically prove that he’s a geek!”

Danny Myers defeats Bill Collector

Recap: The Battle Academy 1-rounder finds Bill Collector, after a bit of a slow start, get back on his grind with some fierce back-to-back punchlines that coupled with some witty personals, made things close in the end. But it’s a steadier Danny Myers, flexing with a some fiery schemes, wicked punches/set-ups and gripping personals, who spouts enough damage to earn the win.

Verdict: Danny Myers (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Danny Myers – “Knocked him in a parallel universe where I ain’t got no kids…this shit quite boring, then I beat this pussy to death and the judge gave me 10 life for him!”

Bill Collector defeats Mewlips

Recap: This 3-round iBattle between two battlers with similar styles, Bill Collector and Mewlips, goes the former’s way as the eccentric Bill (once again showing that he can turn it up at any time) uses a plethora of witty anecdotes, dope punchlines, performance-rich bars and piercing personals to take the first two rounds for the win before the hobbit-inspired and humorous Mewlips delivered enough whimsical darts to edge the 3rd in what was an entertaining battle.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “I been itching to get this kid like smallpox!”

Bill Collector defeats NBA Milz

Recap: Give NBA Milz some credit, because judging from that ice grill he managed to keep on his face for near the entire time he rapped, even while being unintentionally funny with his lines and laughed at by the crowd and his opponent Bill Collector, the guy was pretty serious about those bars. That said, an easy win for BC, who when he wasn’t adeptly freestyling and dishing a bunch of mocking personals during this 1-rounder from GOTG, scored left and right with a gang of hitting gun bars and stinging punchlines.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “This nigga look like Cassidy and Tiger Woods mixed together!”

Bill Collector defeats Quban

Recap: Bill Collector made it known online how disappointed he was in himself after his recent Big T battle and judging from this bout with a pretty solid, but at times lackadaisical Quban, he wasn’t kidding. ‘Ol Billiano getting busy, after a bit of a slow start, with a clean slate of punches/hot wordplay as well as a couple of hot rebuttals while spouting a bunch of gritty (and at times witty) back to back burners/name flips in the latter half of his turn during this Do Or Die Battle League 1-rounder, to gain the win.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line; Bill Collector – “Thinking you a Don Qub?, till this A. [.8] Boogie you down, like the Bronx in the 80s!”

HNH Zeek defeats Bill Collector

Recap: From GOTG, consistently hitting with a gritty mix of righteous darts, stifling punchlines/name flips and bruising 4-bar set-ups/similes, HNH Zeek handily gets the win in this 1-rounder over a topsy-turvy Bill Collector.

Verdict: HNH Zeek (W) 1-0

Favorite line: HNH Zeek – “Your man set you up, it’s like a deuce-deuce, it’s an inside job with no exit!”

Big T defeats Bill Collector

Recap: After a somewhat long hiatus from battle rap, good to see Big T back on the scene and more importantly looking much more healthier what with the huge weight loss. That aside tho, outside of a dope, more punch-heavy, wordplay-lit round 1 (that we’ll score debatable what with the dated personals by T on BC getting hit by Hitman Holla’s brother Showout), when it comes to who had the better, more shrewd and more consistently spicy material, that would be Bill Collector. Unfortunately for BC, a lack of preparation in both of the latter rounds which would each lead to chokes would hand Big T the win in this 3-rounder from URL’s Super Fight 3 card.

Verdict: Big T (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Big T – “Fuck all that, y’all wanna see blood hop out the whip? well it’s 6 9’s in the bitch and we ready to give Billy all those!”

Bill Collector defeats Wise

Recap: From GOTG, showing off some fire wordplay and consistently hitting with the punchlines, mayhem and name flips, a slightly more steady and condensed Bill Collector manages to edge a pretty solid and gritty effort from Wise in what was a competitive 1-rounder.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “If I catch you off base I’ll tag your block, turn your whole neighborhood to Ragnarok!”

Bill Collector and Marv Won [DEBATABLE]

Recap: Preferences are for fans. That said, both (“You don’t just think big, you demonstrate!”) Bill Collector and Marvwon get witty and let the gritty punchlines/personals fly in this URL/Born Legacy 12 matchup. Add to that a nice rebuttal game by both battlers, some spicy wordplay here and there, a scheme-lit BC and righteous-preaching Marvwon and you’re with a dope, competitive and ultimately too close battle that neither side won or lost.

Verdict: Debatable

Favorite line: Marvwon –  “There is no accident, I will let something Black fly through the sky like static shock!”

Bill Collector defeats Arsonal

Recap: In what was a close and competitive, but also gritty and highly personal at times 1-rounder from The Battle Academy, a performance-heavy Bill Collector’s mostly rambunctious punchlines along with a trio (1 crazy dope, 2 solid) of rebuttals edges what was a brazen and disrespectful, but also flow-challenged turn by Arsonal.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “I wanted to give you different pieces out of the magazine like a ranson note!”

Bill Collector defeats Yoshi G

Recap: Both battlers offering righteous rhythms, but also playing the part of charlatan in their bars all the while keeping it entertaining and competitive throughout the battle, in this 3-rounder from URL, Yoshi G and Bill Collector appealed to their fans when it came to providing a lively performance (tho I think Yoshi’s final round kneel-down could’ve played out better). Yet, outside of a versatile/lyrically stunting and sublime 2nd round takedown by Yoshi, it’s a performance/punch-heavier and wittier Bill Collector who takes round 1, before edging the deciding 3rd partly due to some spicy personals to earn the win.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “You be trying to fuck all these broke battle rap nigger’s when you shoulda just fucked Smack…bitch, we would’ve been the main event!”

Bill Collector defeats Holmzie Da God

Recap: Championship round of URL’s Ultimate Madness 2 tournament between Bill Collector and Holmzie Da God gets the feted Summer Madness 10 platform, a significant first for each battler. Unfortunately however, overall it’s a mostly subpar affair as the two battlers (who happen to be part of the same Loud Boys clique) clearly didn’t bring their respective A-games to the bout and too often at times seemed focused on their ‘brotherhood’ rather than showing us who could rap better. Holmzie, often indirect with his punches and kicking a gang of pedestrian bars in every round, could never match the consistent heat he brought with his wordplay and punchlines that got him to the finals. While Bill, tho seeming to want it more at times, might have been suffering from battling too much late what with his lack of high-kneed hijinks and creativity. Nonetheless someone had to win and the edge here (despite Holmzie winning getting the belt in real time) in each round goes to BC, who overall was more direct and just had better punches, especially in his best round, the 3rd.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “I’m here to seal ya fate, it’s easy to get of rid of Holmes when you from the real estate!”

Bill Collector defeats Nunn Nunn

Recap: Quarterfinal Ultimate Madness 2 battle between Bill Collector and Nunn Nunn was (residual name flips and personals aside) pretty much a punchfest, with both battlers offering up equally spirited efforts in their efforts to win. That said, a comfortable-in-his-skin, rebuttal dropping and punch-heavier Bill Collector with less-than-usual antics and a more consistently spicy pen game, manages to get the win, taking the first two rounds before a 3rd round debatable.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “Man, I might bring pumps, the 9 cool, 50 on me, Ja Rule, squeezing out a window like Big T at a drive-thru!”

Bill Collector defeats Steel

Recap: If you’re going to do a battle outside, you probably shouldn’t do it less than a block away from an elevated train station. But this frequently interrupted 1-rounder from The Battle Academy was still a goodie as Jersey rapper Steel, despite a slow start and a near choke at the end, was able to drop a barrage of gritty punchlines, braggadocious darts and piercing personals to make it close. However, with an oft-righteous talking Bill Collector spouting a better and well-connected flow along with some hard-hitting personals/storytelling, freestyles and punchlines, you can chalk up another win for Double-Bar Bill.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “The street’s been missing you, but bro that street shit isn’t you, the most gangsta shit you ever did was stand up for some shit you didn’t do!”

Bill Collector defeats Mike P

Recap: That ‘choke’ in the 3rd round didn’t seem too sincere to me. But either way it happened. And in a deciding 3rd round vs. Bill Collector of a 2nd round Ultimate Madness tournament with $25k on the line, what a timely spot for Mike P (coming off a controversial ‘win’ over Ryda in the previous round) to all of a sudden get a visit from Earl. As for Bill Collector, dilly-dallying with some hitting personals, witty barbs and performance-rich hijinks throughout his 3 rounds? Well, at least he earned his paycheck and more importantly moves on to the next round.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “She said she was his music manager?, hey, Ash’, good way to go to the bluff, Yo’ last name Pulice [police], how the fuck you don’t know who to cuff?”

Bill Collector defeats Young Kannon

Recap: Solid showings by both Young Kannon and Bill Collector in this 1st round Ultimate Madness 2 matchup with plenty of mayhem, spirited gun bars, heard-it-all-before personals, some witty bars and aggressive/spicy punches. Close and competitive throughout with nothing too outlandish (outside of a sublime 2nd round by Bill that evened things up going into the 3rd), it’s a momentun-rich, more condensed and slightly punch-heavier B.C. who takes the final round for the win.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “Get your head wrapped ’round it, you losing tonight will make you Real Sikh [sick]!”

Chef Trez defeats Bill Collector

Recap: A witty at times, but mostly indifferent Bill Collector equates to another day at the office for Chef Trez, who uses a plethora of spicy gun bars, some fire rebuttals and a host of elite wordplay to knock out a 30 in this 3-rounder from The Battle Academy.

Verdict: Chef Trez (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Chef Trez – “I’ll empty and load the clip again, shots knock him 6 feet back, we practicing social distancing!”

Bill Collector defeats Kryponite

Recap: Pretty much winging it when it came to approach, Bill Collector ends up utilizing a modest mix of potent gun bars, hitting punchlines, witty personals and jaunty off-the-dome theatrics to get past the abstract/self-deprecating, but topsy-turvy barbs from Kryponite on this 1-rounder from GOTG.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “You know what you and big bitches got in common?, y’all both struggle to put on your panties!”

Bill Collector defeats Frank Wit Da Grippaz

Recap: In this 1-rounder from The Battle Academy, Bill Collector leaves the jokes and the Supa Dupa Scope at the crib and instead puts forth a brutal tongue-lashing on opponent Frank Wit Da Grippaz. The Norristown, PA vet unleashing a lengthy screed littered with blistering personals and righteous burners that were excellently mixed in with some spicy punches and blazing off the dome darts to handily beat back an aggresive and gritty, but not as consistently worthwhile showing from Da Grippaz.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “You see how I’m rapping right now on final notice?, this Bill past due!”

Glueazy defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Can’t help but wonder how not having a crowd to watch (and sometimes perform with) effects a battle rap/showman like Bill Collector. Not that the part serious, part personal, part punching/free-styling/witty B.C. did a bad job here, but what’s a fully ready for action Bill Collector without being able to utilize his Super-Duper-Scope? A little subdued, to say the least. As for Glueazy, nothing much has changed even after leaving the Gooonies. The Carolina’s favorite white boy still delivering (outside of a half-hearted and shortened 3rd round) that rambunctious heat along with some rich storytelling bars and high efficient/clever punchlines to take the first two rounds for the win.

Verdict: Glueazy (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Glueazy – “You wanna slap-box?!, my arm short, but my gat pop!”

Rum Nitty defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Pretty close Quarantine battle as Bill Collector’s punches were more spicy than not. However, some dated bars from Bill along with an always-on-go Rum Nitty squeezing out a consistent barrage of fiery gun bars. fierce name flips and gritty punchlines/wordplay, gave the Phoenix, AZ capo the win.

Verdict: Rum Nitty (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Rum Nitty – “Chopper blaze, this shit take care of Bill as soon as it hit…I got Auto Pay!”

Bill Collector defeats Slim 7 Hunnit

Recap: Not much in the form of aggression here as Bill Collector versus Slim 7 Hunnit turns out to be one of the most casual and laidback battles you’ll ever see. And while each battler seemed to have been woken out of bed then brought to the stage to rap, B.C.’s more damning raps/personals and witty jargon along with a fly in-round rebuttal prove to be more than enough to beat back his opponent’s mostly meager punches and take this 1-rounder from Gates of the Garden.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “The flow light, y’all ain’t peep the blitz?, he need more pads!”

T-Top defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Bill Collector’s capacity for providing (“Better yet, let’s have a two nigga’s that can’t fight, fight!”) wit, urban street semantics and performance-rich theater are a welcome addition to almost any battle. But when the Pennsylvania rapper is able to add some top-notch bars to his arsenal, he makes for a formidable opponent against any battler, including here against T-Top. Still, while BC sometimes gritty trap talk, humorous anecdotes and other festive name flips/punchlines make for a competitive battle and even a debatable 2nd round, overall ‘The Bear’ would prove to be too much, lyrically wrecking BC in the 1st round with his own series of steely (“If I ever hear he making a statement, I’ll put his face in the pavement then drop off half of Bill like a payment arrangement!”) name flips, fire rebuts to ward off his opponent’s more pointed personals and spitfire schemes as well a more personal 3rd round/closing verse littered with fiery set-ups, well-lit pontifications and a boatload of searing punchlines to take each round and the battle.

Verdict: T-Top (W) 2-1

Favorite line: T-Top – “You got knocked out, I fell on stage, just know the difference, the fans killed me, [but] I took my lick like a Prohibition!”

Bill Collector defeats Polo

Recap: In a 1-rounder from Gates of the Garden, a barrage of fiery 1, 2 punches and stifling name flips gives Bill Collector (ably assisted here by a bunch of funny ad libs from Tay Roc) the win over a gritty and pretty solid, but not as condensed or filler-proof effort from Polo.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “The stock drop and knock Polo off his high horse!”

Ave defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Worth noting here some of Ave’s reactions to Bill Collector while he raps, like he had no idea what to expect from B.C., who throughout this battle delivered soundly on the antics, witty (“Chill, Carl Winslow!”) barbs, performance-rich histrionics, lofty personals/name flips and for his core fans, a cameo appearance from his noted Super Dupa Scope. Still equipped with one of the fiercest pens in the game, even against the likes of a battle rapper more known for his jocular stylings than anything else, Ave still came with the heat. The Norfolk, VA spitter shining for 3 rounds with a boatload of piercing punchlines, robust gun bars, flexing wordplay/name flips and even some fiending personals to take each round and score the 30.

Verdict: Ave (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Ave – “Like you already know what running gonna lead you, soon as the machine spit Bill back out…the money too wrinkled!”

DNA defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Don’t get to see Bill Collector on the big stage too often these days, but he turns in a nice showing here against DNA–the Norristown, PA, vet recalling his old days on URL and equalizing his usual performance-rich antics with a gang spicy/witty punches/personals in round 1 to force a draw. However, things would veer left and go back to what you probably expected in the latter rounds of this battle with DNA still dishing a plethora of fierce gun bars/4-bar setups/schemes, consistently hitting punchlines, fiery personals and solid name flips/wordplay while Bill, never able to quite reach the versatility and depth he showed in round 1, settled back into a bunch of questionable personals (too often at others that weren’t his opponent), some witty lines here and there and one too many pedestrian bars, thus giving DNA the win.

Verdict: DNA (W) 2-1

Favorite line: DNA – “I’m getting super-duper close, then I’m gonna aim, what good is a Super-duper scope [moves towards B.C.] when you close range?!”

Dev Leone defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Once he got past the lazy ‘ShowOut’ personals we’ve seen time and again with Bill Collector, Dev Leone’s ability to spout a consistently mean punch game mixed in with a gang of brazen similes and festive gun bars end up being just enough to beat back yet another entertaining, but not as substantive effort from BC, thus giving Leone the win in this 1-rounder from GOTG.

Verdict: Dev Leone (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Dev Leone – “Hot girl summer, this ratchet got too many bodies!”

Bill Collector defeats Wavyington

Recap: From the Gates, versus a gritty-punching, but up-n-down effort from Wavyington, an eccentic Bill Collector utilizes a bunch of blistering rebuttals, some solid name flips and piercing punchlines/freestyles/personals to get the 1-round win.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “You tell a nigga that he mad and it make him mad, how you a puncher but you stumble when I fake the jab?!”

T-Rex and Bill Collector [DEBATABLE]

Recap: This much-hyped T-Rex versus Bill Collector battle is a tale of two halves with witty and visceral personals, references to past lore, boastful barbs of mayhem, salacious gun bars (esp. via Bill’s highly maneuverable Super Duper Scope) and other lofty punchlines dominating Rex’s 1st and BC’s first two rounds. The first round easily being the best, Rex edges the opening round with a more consistent and condensed turn, before a still-turned-up B.C. comfortably takes the 2nd with a dope performance that included some very pointed (“…it would’ve been a news article that read ‘This Nigger Dead!’?, is that what happened when Head I.C.E. man put you to bed?!?”) personals at his opponent. 3rd round was pretty much a wash what with neither battler going for the kill, but delivering enough fiery heaters and solid punches to make the 3rd a draw and the battle a tie.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: T-Rex – “Your son gonna grow up a pussy Bill and you did it, he said ‘Daddy how you want me to swing back nigger…you didn’t!'”

Bill Collector defeats Your Honor

Recap: A more condensed, punch-heavy turn to edge a favorable round 1 for both battlers, a gang of stunted ‘Your Honor’ flips, spirited gun bars, witty barbs/personals and some righteous undercutting on the vet tip, for Bill Collector it’s all there in this Banned Legacy 3 matchup against an opponent who after dishing a dope opener, faltered by relying too heavily on dated personals, which in turn contributed to a pair of sluggish rounds 2 and 3 as well as a 30 for BC.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “I woke up snapping…like a tough guy in the 50s!”

Drugz defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Funny how at the beginning of Bill Collector’s 1st round Drugz seemed to be shaking his head at the thought of Bill not taking this battle seriously, when as unorthodox, off-the-cuff and entertaining as he can be, outside of Bill and perhaps the people in his camp, does anyone have a clue what Bill’s coming with before a battle? Good thing for Drugz and the crowd tho, Bill did take this Banned Legacy battle serious, even bringing his Super Duper Scope with him for verification. And with that, what proceeded was a pretty dope and competitive battle, Drugz (aka ‘The Gun Show’) bringing a wide load of fiery gun bars, stinging set-ups/name references, a couple of biting tag-in’s (from NJ Twork and C3) and piercing punches/personals in 3 mostly condensed rounds. While Bill, ever the showman, would come heavily armed with a gang of witty barbs, some scintillating punchlines/wordplay, mostly hitting name flips and a host of Gooonie disses. A close bout till the very end, it’s a more qualitative Drugz who edges rounds 1 and 3 for the win.

Verdict: Drugz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Drugz – “What are you calling yourself nowadays?, Bill? the Devil, that just means there’s be hell to pay!”

Hitman Holla defeats Bill Collector

Recap: Bill Collector finally gets a chance at revenge with this long coveted battle against Hitman Holla and receives an outcome many in the battle rap world probably didn’t expect: simply put, Holla out-barred him. Yeah, that’s right, the man who made ‘performance’ a category, chose to lean more heavily on his pen to win a battle, using a gang of fiery (“Man, if this nigger ain’t a bitch than please enlighten men, ‘cuz we had Bill running like Clinton in ’93!”) personals, some glistening wordplay, dope name flips, lucid gun bars and potent punchlines to take all 3 rounds and beat a witty (“You did what you did little kid, [points at forehead] but not today, [k]not joking, I am [k]not kidding, I am [k]not to play, [k]not never again, never [k]not, [k]not [k]not I say!” throughout, self-deprecating, sermonizing and performance-rich, but elongated, a bit filler prone and too often Show Out-addressing BC, in an altogether entertaining battle that brought ‘Closure’ to the two combatants longstanding feud.

Verdict: Hitman Holla (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Hitman Holla – “All that loudmouth shit, I’m Hitman, I don’t go for it, yeah you lost a fight, well swing now or get over it!”

Bill Collector and Casino [DEBATABLE]

Recap: Even tho it took on the feeling of being a handicap match what with LB The Boss (RIP) getting tagged in for gang of fiery missives, this 1-rounder from Bullpen Battle League still ended up being a goodie with the forever entertaining Bill Collector dropping his usual assortment of eclectic (“The can cover the arm, I’m reaching for a Pringle!”) punchlines, witty barbs/personals and lofty gun bars while an off-the-dome nice, name flip-lit and punch-heavy Casino stayed consistently spicy throughout the battle. That said, what an almost equal amount of haymakers during a near equal amount of time rapping, this one ends up being a draw.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Casino – I’m really pimping, you straight ass…skinny women!”

Bill Collector and Nu Jerzey Twork [DEBATABLE]

Recap: In this 1-rounder versus Bill Collector, a slow start out the gate along some early stumbles ends up costing Nu Jersey Twork a win. After all, when Twork did get in his bag and pulled out a shitload of syrupy mayhem (tho some may wish he saved that fire ‘Kaboom!…little brother will never hold him up again!’ line for Hitman Holla if they were to ever battle), simply put, it was not only stellar across the board, but certainly condensed enough to beat a BC, who while spouting an elongated turn that was a bit costly when it came to pretty basic punchlines, produced enough hilarity with his (“The gun so big, to shoot it, I aim past you!”) fiery performance bars, sizzling name flips and witty personals to earn a draw.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Nu Jerzey Twork – “[Bwoh!} see straight through Bill…ghost that!”

Bill Collector defeats LP Dame

Recap: Although it nearly led to fisticuffs, credit LP Dame for introducing ‘drunk rap’ to Gates of the Garden. And tho his bars may’ve come a little sloshed, Dame’s ability to dish his mostly hardbody lines with nary a slip-up does hint that something could be there if he were to rhyme yunno….sober. Still, for all of Dame’s loaded raps, a wary Bill Collector (with more than an able assist from the always eccentric LB Da Boss) does just enough, with a couple of nice freestyles and aggressive heaters mixed in, to ward off what would’ve been a mild upset.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “My niggas lined up for the kick, you the Concords!”

Bill Collector defeats Clone

Recap: From WarTown Battles, up against a gritty, often punch/personal/name flip-heavy and hard-hitting Clone, after losing out on round one, Bill Collector pulls out all stops (including the Supa-Dupa-Scope all the way from Augusta) via a bunch of potent punchlines, jaunty name flips, witty barbs and stifling gun bars to edge both of the latter rounds for the win.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “I love to bring the block down, I’m a Tetris fan!”

Dre Dennis and Bill Collector [DEBATABLE]

Recap: Dope altogether and super entertaining Verbal War Zone between Bill Collector and Dre Dennis really has no winner as after splitting the first two rounds, BC’s now classic, original, personal and wild (“Put the salads and the soups aside/Supersize on the Supersize!”) funny 3rd (‘We Loved You Better As A Fat Nigger’) round still doesn’t beat what was a pretty gritty, punch-heavy and hard turn from Dre Dennis. And while overall it’s BC who rode the beats better, bar-wise the edge goes to Dre Dennis, again making this battle only a close match with huge replay value, but a debatable one too.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Dre Dennis – “Aim at him while he with his homies laughing, D. Rose, straight-face, make a shot with no reaction!”

Fis Da Beast defeats Bill Collector

Recap: From The Battle Academy, a 1-round crazy punchfest that was highlighted by Bill Collector’s zany wit, Fis Da Beast’s relentless punch game and mocking personals on both sides was by edged Da Beast who even when it seemed like he was losing some steam towards the end of his round, turned it back up with enough gritty haymakers to earn the win.

Verdict: Fis Da Beast (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fis Da Beast – “I know you hearing me, straight up, I’ll rock him [Rakim] fuck wherever Eric be!”

So Severe defeats Bill Collector

Recap: In this 1-rounder from Gates of the Garden, a boisterous So Severe, using a load of stinging braggadocio lines, gritty struggle bars and some loud mayhem easily beats back a Bill Collector, who with a struggle to find his grind throughout, was clearly not on his A-game.

Verdict: So Severe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: So Severe – “But what’s up Billy pop, this bitch nasty on the mic, he Jilly Scott!”

Bill Collector defeats JR

Recap: How do you half-ass your way through a battle and still win? Well, first the battle should only be a round. Then your opponent (in this case JR) spits a bunch of gritty and aggressive, but mostly pedestrian shit before cutting his round short after 3 minutes. Then if you’re a crafty battle vet like Bill Collector, despite having very little motivation to rap other than earning your paycheck, you rely on a gang of nifty freestyles, an always reliable ‘Gun so big…’ bar and some witty barbs/personals to get through a matchup that you seemingly didn’t even write for and somehow still take home the W.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “Yo J, the four-pound knock ya grandmom down, she hit the ground and make grandmom sounds!”
