Fonz defeats Ms. Hustle

Recap: From URL’s “Bars Over Politics” card, unfazed by his opponent’s bullish darts, steely gun bars and sometimes over-the-top performance bars, a more steady-hitting Fonz, via a gang of hardbody punchlines/name flips, witty barbs, salacious personals, mean 4-bar zingers and other violence-themed lines edges round 1 and (thanks in part to Ms. Hustle delivering an up-n-down turn) handily takes the middle round for the win in this fiery 3-rounder. To her credit, in what would turn out to be her best round all the while scoring with a bunch of sturdy ‘Landlord’ flips/metaphors, some solid similes and more blazing punches, it’s a still aggressive and turned up Ms. Hustle who would easily take the 3rd round from a lackadaisical turn by Fonz to avoid the shutout.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “What you think posting a nigga hand with a drink gonna prove?, why would a nigaga put a ring on you? you know what your problem is? you a Cabbage Patch doll ‘cuz you hard-headed and your cheeks don’t move!”

Fonz defeats MegaDaSavage

Recap: In this 1-rounder from the Smoke Room Battle League Fonz overcomes a bit of a slow start and some minor hiccups with his flow to deliver enough hardbody punchlines, piercing wordplay and boastful barbs to beat back a gritty, but less consistent and mostly pedestrian effort from opponent MegaDaSavage.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “Boy, this shit will get real ugly, I’m talking Poetic Justic, beat the shit out of a Chicago nigga, like Tupac, consider yourself Lucky!”

Fonz defeats Bad Newz

Recap: In a battle that was apparently supposed to happen earlier this year, Fonz and Bad Newz were still able to put on a dope and competitive contest for 3 rounds on Bullpen Battle League. Indeed, what with plenty of aggressive darts on both sides, the energy in the room was matched with a plethora of hard-hitting punchlines, rich metaphors, gritty street lines, boastful barbs and wily personals from two battlers who both came to win. However, Newz’s constant stumbling block of overwriting, present in all 3 rounds and fixated on repeated themes, combined with a more condensed Fonz also adding some witty personals, steely wordplay and pretty solid storytelling to mix, allows The Landlord to edge rounds 1 and 2 for the win before a debatable 3rd.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “You fought a nigga with one eye, you a true bitch, I bet if that nigga had two eyes you wouldn’t do shit!”

Fonz defeats Geechi Gotti

Recap: In this 3-rounder from URL’s N.O.M.E. 14, after a less efficient and elongated round 1 which cost him the opener to a choppy at times, but aggressive, street-hip and gritty punching as well as personal-lit Geechi Gotti. Fonz ups the ante in round 2 with a sublime turn that better utilized his bullish punch game to even things up over a pretty solid, but not as haymaker-friendly Geechi. Tied going into the 3rd, while it’s another competitive round, it’s also the more consistently hitting and less flow-challenged Fonz who takes the tiebreaker for the win.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “It ain’t hard, Gotti got me laoding this AR, 5 5 6’s, I’m feeling up the arm for Bae like Ray Charles!”

Fonz defeats Charlie Clips

Recap: From The Campout in Cleveland, against a Charlie Clips relying on solid freestyles, jokey jokes and the type of blithe rancor that’s especially built for just collecting a paycheck, Fonz utilizes a bunch of bullish boasts, stinging personals, a couple of crazy freestyles of his own and a gang of potent punchlines to handily get the win in this 1-rounder.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “Move back, I’ll hae them Harlem nigger’s walking around hurt, soon as I let a round burst, I’m talking about a 2k release, the whole city gonna be wearing brown shirts!”

Fonz defeats Chef Trez (Rematch)

Recap: Damn, Chef Trez and Fonz battled each other so long ago, it’s easy to forget that they met up already. Either way, this rematch from URL’s “Redemption 3” card, while certainly a goodie, moreso established how much Fonz has evolved over the years to become one of the best punchers in the game. The Landlord wasting no time with his elite punch game while going at his opponent with a rapid stream of filthy similes, stinging name flips, bullish boasts, hard-hitting personals and fiery linguistic darts that after a debatable round 1, proved to be more efficient during the latter two rounds for the win. That said, despite Chef Trez delivering his usual strong performance, it was surprising that after the opening round, he didn’t utilize more (after dishing ‘3 of those things’ in the opener) rebuttals in the battle, which along with being elongated in rounds 2 and 3, might have contributed to his defeat. Nonetheless, by showcasing his usual m.o. of impressive gun bars and fire punchlines, Trez made it clear that even in a loss, he’s still worth the price of admission.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “Trez you can’t fuck with me, I’m only trying to reason with’cha, ‘cuz like a torn ACL, you facing a seasoned killer!”

Fonz defeats Heavy Half

Recap: Steady scoring with a variety of hardbody name flips, rambunctious boasts, fiery gun bars and gritty punchlines, in this 1-rounder from The Smoke Room Battle League, Fonz gets an easy win over an aggressive and earnest, but mostly subpar punching Heavy Half.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “They say all I do is punch and they gave me a Heavy bag, C3 no matter how much they try to cover it up…Heavy ass!

Fonz defeats Woosah

Recap: Against the predominantly fiery street raps from Crucible alum Woosah, Fonz uses a consistent barrage of gritty punchlines, witty/piercing personals, mayhem-lit darts and fire name flips to take rounds 1 and 3 (call the 2nd debatable) for the win in this competitive 3-rounder from URL’s Final Exam card.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “Mac’s is blazing, let’s get activated, shoot up the crib, ain’t no Window’s in that bitch, they think Apple made it!”

Fonz defeats Shotgun Suge

Recap: Like a couple of big linebackers going at it on the football field, Shotgun Suge and Fonz bring the fight to URL’s Summer Madness 13 and it’s a goodie with both of the big guys bringing the competitive heat, vociferous punches, fiery gun bars, loud metaphorical name flips, fly hometown refernces and of course, a couple of aggressive bumps/pocket taps by each battler to show everyone that they meant business. However, in the end it’s Fonz who prevails. The Cleveland, OH, battler edging round 1 (before the just as lit, but more efficient Suge edged round 2) with more haymakers while dominating the deciding 3rd round with a barrage of powerful punches, lyrical finesse and steady crowd-shaking darts to gain the win over a so-so Suge.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “They brought the landlord to evict a nigga…now [bumps Suge] bitch move!”

Fonz defeats O-Red

Recap: With Tsu Surf locked up and very little top tiers facing each other these days, the majority of talk around battle rap nowadays seem to center around whatever drama is going on instead of a potential goodie like Fonz versus O-Red for 3 rounds on URL. Nonetheless, with plenty of mayhem dished from both sides, the two vets still put on a quality show, round one serving as the best one what with Red and Fonz offering up a gang of gritty and bombastic punches that the slightly more haymaker-lit Landlord ends up edging thanks in part to a couple of dry spots from the Jersey capo. From there, while Red stayed solid and boastful with a few dalliances of the wordplay-lit/old Red from back in the day coming back here and there, it’s the more consistently punch-bent, witty and personal-lit Fonz who would take round 2 too for the win before a slightly flow-challenged Fonz would get edged by the cleaner an dmore bar efficient Red in the 3rd.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “I’ll grab a gun with a beam and start clappin’ his hit, and it’s still transformeing ‘cuz when I’m done with the machine then it’s back to the whip!’

Fonz defeats Mackk Myron

Recap: Always competitive with a big bowl of nasty punchlines and witty personals, Mackk Myron’s return to URL was impressive. But in this 3-round ‘Outside’ matchup vs. Fonz that was filled to the rim with a gang of dope punches, hitting personals, gruesome gun bars and spicy personals from both battlers, after a debatable (thanks in part to Fonz rapping way too long) round 1, it’s the Ohio landlord who lands a couple of more haymakers to edge the 2nd round, before a slightly more bar efficient Fonz also edges the 3rd for the win.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “This bitch hit you and take a short portion of Mackk [mac] like the kid’s menu!”

Fonz defeats 40 B.A.R.R.S.

Recap: As talented as she is (esp. against dudes) regardless of 40 B.A.R.R.S.’ miscues with her flow in this Queen of the Ring 1-rounder, there’s almost no way she was beating this Fonz. The Landlord delivering a loud, aggressive and sublime round (i.e. classic) that pulled no punches while scoring mightily with a gang of versatile name flips, a couple of fire freestyles, hard-hitting punches, dope schemes, stinging personals and witty barbs to handily get the win over a much less bar potent and inconsistent run by 40.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “That’s what wrong with you bitches, these hoes don’t know they position, gilr you got milk and eggs in you, you belong in the kitchen!”

Rum Nitty defeats Fonz

Recap: Not much for ‘Battle of the Year’ conversations, but for 2022 Rum Nitty versus Fonz has gotta be mentioned. A blazing back-n-forth between two of the best punchers in the game, this URL Civil War matchup, which also featured a bunch of crazy name flips and fiery schemes, was punch-drunk from the jump. Fonz, ever aggressive and bullish throughout, earned his paycheck with a gang of fire ‘Rum/4th quarter’ flips, steely 4-bar set-ups/punchlines and flippant personals/gun bars that were only negated by a few reaches here and there as well two elongated rounds (the 2nd & 3rd). On the other hand Nitty, outside of a few dry spots, came correct with a rich palette of animated/sublime punches, fly similes, potent set-ups as well, flagrant gun lines and a shitload of gritty/electic darts that kept your head nodding. Close all the way through, the deciding factor here was basically who was more efficient with their haymakers, thus we got Fonz edging round 1 before the more condensed Nitty edged both of the latter rounds for the win.

Verdict: Rum Nitty (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Rum Nitty – “I’m ’bout to send a nigga to hell with this lead, close range, shell to the leg, shell to the head, when the spirit leave the body it’s like T.I., you can tell when he dead!”

Fonz defeats Filthy

Recap: In this 1-rounder from No Chill Battle League, Filthy’s round of mostly subpar bars end up not only getting him offtrack to the point of repeatedly stopping his turn, but a fed-up crowd as well. The former gaslighting himself into thinking he wasn’t the problem while the latter’s continuously loud chatter and commotion while Filthy tried to rap proved otherwise. For some added irony there’s the fact that this was a beatable Fonz what with the Landlord (while still unleashing a solid punch game overall to get the win) getting off to a bit of slow start and struggling with his flow towards the end.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “I’ll bang a ratchet, run down with something stainless clapping, the first hit make a Yung Berg nigga come off his jewelry…it’s a chain reaction!”

B. Magic defeats Fonz

Recap: Fonz vs. B. Magic, elite puncher vs. elite puncher for a 1-rounder on URL’s Banned card, turns out to be a goodie with each battler spouting a plethora of head-turning bars to make you feen for more. Competitive with a near equal amount of haymakers on each side, it’s the more condensed and slightly more steadily hitting Magic who edges it here.

Verdict: B. Magic (W) 1-0

Favorite line: B. Magic – “Street nigga, I was straight thugging and you really can’t relate like a play cousin!”

Danny Myers defeats Fonz

Recap: From URL’s Summer Madness 12 card, a close battle between Danny Myers (who could probably be a rock star on the side, the way he gets charged up and interacts with the crowd) and Fonz comes down to a rambunctious punching, more direct and spicy rebuttal game from Danny (after losing round 1 thanks to a stellar second-half to his turn in the opener by Fonz) that in addition to a couple of elongated rounds from Fonz, that while hitting at times punch-wise, couldn’t manage to keep up with the Bar God’s more steadily robust lines (esp. in round 2 where a longwinded and mostly subpar Fonz fought with the crowd over being able to spout a tired T-Rex angle), thus allowing the EFB battler to come back and take round’s 2 plus 3 for the win.

Verdict: Danny Myers (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Danny Myers – “Hey, let me talk to my opposition, he look like one of them landlords that when a woman don’t have all the rent, he offers them a proposition!”

Fonz defeats Real Name Brandon

Recap: Fonz vs. Real Name Brandon (aka Ultimate Madness 1 tournament winner versus UM4 tourney winner) from The Riot contains a gang of stifling punchlines, spirited gun bars, lofty set-ups and graphic mayhem from both battlers in make things interesting for the 1st couple of rounds (with a maymaker-lit Fonz edhing round 1 before a 2nd round debatable). But thanks in part to RNB choking away his 3rd, it’s the Landlord (who also added some sizzling wordplay and fire name flips to the mix) what with another round of stealthy punches, who gets the win in the end.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “Bro stop it, acting like this nigga the one, no this nigga my son, but he not me, he Jaheim, this R&B nigga a bum!”

Adolph Jr. defeats Fonz

Recap: In this close 1-rounder from Gates of the Garden, both Adolph Jr. and Fonz bring the fiery gun bars, ill boasts and hard-hitting punchlines to make thinsg competitive. But despite a near equal amount of haymakers to his opponent and saving himself from a choke by recycling a bar at the end of his turn, it’s a slightly less cleaner Fonz who ends up getting the loss in lieu of an impressive performance from Adolph Jr.

Verdict: Adolph Jr. (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Adolph Jr. – “You think I’m playing nigga?, Robert Downey, Tropic Thunder, just watch what you saying nigga!”

Calicoe defeats Fonz

Recap: Old Midwest (Calicoe) meets up with new Midwest (Fonz) for a dope 1-rounder brought to you from The Rap Committee. And despite a pretty solid (outside some reaches and a few subpar punches here and there) effort from the always punch-crazy Fonz, it’s the Detroit vet, on his A-game throughout with a steady, subline (i.e. classic) and uninterrupted flow of gritty schemes, lyrical posturizing, boastful barbs, steely pontifications and stinging personals who earns the win.

Verdict: Calicoe (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Calicoe – “I’m trying to hit you and then fucked around and hit your man in the head, he got lead astray [led a stray]!”

Swamp defeats Fonz

Recap: From URL’s Summer Madness 5 tournament, taking advantage of a Fonz mired in inconsistent punches, a lack of wit and a surprising 2nd round slip-up, a more consistently hitting, gritty, personal-lit and trap talk spicy Swamp takes both of the opening rounds for the win before a debatable 3rd round that while giving witness to Fonz finally putting it all together like the Landlord we’re used to seeing, still was only good enough to match the brazen polemics from South Carolina’s finest.

Verdict: Swamp (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Swamp – “The last battle, it was ‘Paige’ [page] this, ‘Paige’ [page] that,
nigga flipped Paige [page] too fast and read me wrong!”

Fonz defeats Real Sikh

Recap: Dope URL Summer Madness 5 tourney matchup between Fonz and Real Sikh sees the latter get busy with a aggressive plate of hard-hitting real talk, some crazy wordplay and stining braggadocious bars. While a never-lacking-for-confidence Fonz scored left and right with a gang of sizzling name flips, witty barbs, bullish darts and a versatile array of fire punchlines which when combined allowed the Landlord to outscore his opponent in both rounds 1 and 2 for the win before a slightly more turned up and consistent Sikh edged the 3rd.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “If I put a red dot on his wrap, nor Johnny or Quest can stop me from fucking up Haji!”

Fonz defeats Pristavia

Recap: Unfortunately, having only 11 days prep can even bring the chokes out of two battlers who normally come prepared. So after the steady Christian-bashing and punch-lit Fonz loses the opening round of this URL Summer Madness 3 tournament matchup thanks to a last-minute visit from Earl, it’s only right that a gritty dart throwing and personal crazy Pristavia return the favor via a lack of remembering her bars (twice) in round 2. Split going into the 3rd, it’s the Landlord with a more consistently spicy, sexually explicit and punchline vicious turn who gets the win over a solid and gritty, but much less potent go-around from Pristavia.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “I already made one girl sit down and P next!”

Fonz defeats Shooney Da Rapper

Recap: A mostly competitive URL Queens vs. Kings 3 battle between Fonz and Shooney Da Rapper that was littered with brazen punches, plenty of sexual hijinks, steely name flips and greasy personals, after the two split the first of rounds (Shooney with a superb, punch-lit round 1 took the opener, while a more haymaker-rich Fonz came back to take the second round), is won by Fonz, who with a bunch of aggressive/hard-hittimg personals, fiery wordplay/set-ups and gritty/versatile bangers, handily beat back a solid, but not as potent turn by Shooney.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “Girl you got a beautiful smile, and I’m not just talking shit, but you know how you get rid of a bitch dimples?, fill her jaw with dick!”

Fonz defeats Tink Da Demon

Recap: Capped by a superlative opening round that was as punch-lit, mayhem rich, fire personals and metaphorically heavy as one would expect from him, after dominating round 1, a still hard-hitting Fonz then edges both of the latter rounds to get the 30 in this URL/Initiation 2 matchup vs. Tink Da Demon. The Delaware rapper getting off to a hot start in each round, but struggling a bit with his breath control and consistency in the first round and despite making things more competitive with his gang of torture racks and morbid polemics in rounds 2 and 3, just couldn’t keep up with his opponent’s more steady burners and rigid name flips.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “Blast the heat, with this chopper I’m Th3 Saga, fighting demons with a magazine!”

Drugz defeats Fonz

Recap: Hey, even Fonz (who had all the material and hitting punches here, but was hurt by one too many slip-ups and an elongated turn) in his opening bar acknowledged Drugz’s incredible ability to quickly prepare for a battle. Add to that a cleaner flow, a bit lengthy but well-crafted punches, superb Ave angles and a bunch of aggressive/blazing heaters, gives the Gun Show the win and a bit of an upset in this 1-round Banned battle from URL.

Verdict: Drugz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Drugz – “Put the piece up to his roof, he could see the leg dump, then give Fonz a shell, it’s a Easter egg hunt!”

Fonz defeats Ill Will

Recap: Only a 1-rounder, but a win over the likes of Ill Will is still an impressive one as despite a strong, brazen and punch-lit showing from his fellow Midwestern opponent, Fonz’s more consistently electric name flips, hard-hitting punchlines/wordplay, rigid personals and flexing bouts of mayhem equates to a few more haymakers and gets him the win in this competitive bout from The Rap Committee.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “The way he been moving is real fake, how you on Smack, RBE, KOTD, but Mackk ain’t get no real plates?, I guess if they keep you stagnant, his position is real safe…nigga in a secret competition with Mackk [Mac] he Bill Gates!”

Fonz defeats Grandaddy Purp

Recap: Mean set-ups/punchlines, stifling performance bars, piercing personals and a variety of head-ringing name flips, it’s all there as Fonz handily beats back a solid and gritty at times Grandaddy Purp in this 1-rounder from Ball Hogg Ent.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “But if you think that fame done went to my head then bitch chance it, and they gonna see me sit a Purp [perp] down like Chris Hansen!”

Fonz defeats Lu Castro

Recap: With his bullish ethos and heavy bag of bruising punchlines, Ultimate Madness 1 winner Fonz can be a problem on any given day. More reason why Lu Castro, still feeling the love and momentum from his first Summer Madness 11 appearance a month ago, probably shouldn’t have taken this battle. Well, not so soon anyway, as in the first couple of rounds of this URL App exclusive match, while the wit was consistently there for Big Lu, the punches? Not so much (till the 3rd anyway, his best round). And for Fonz, banging the drum throughout the bout with a plethora of hard-hitting punches, stinging/mocking personals, banging gun bars and steely wordplay to take both of the opening rounds for the win before a debatable 3rd, it’s proof again that he has enough smoke to take on all comers.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “You know who else wild strong? Pall bearers ‘cuz they dead lift!”

Fonz defeats Klutch

Recap: From SDBL/UBL, while the mostly hardbody street rhymes from Klutch made their mark and make this 1-rounder competitive, a more versatile punching Fonz, lighting up the scoreboard with a gang of sizzling gun bars, potent name flips and wily punches/personals, just proved to be too much in the end.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “Your wife next, your whole family could get murdered today, and it start with them and stop with Klutch like and emergency brake!”

Fonz defeats ComeUp Zo

Recap: A 1-rounder from Major League Battles that was filled to the rim with plenty of braggadicous darts and pure, utter mayhem, despite a pretty solid and aggressive turn by Florida battler ComeUp Zo (who was much better with the punches in the latter half of his round), a bullish Fonz’s more consistently-lit set-ups and spicy similes gives The Landlord the win.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “You’ze a goof, I’m the truth, Snapple top, the fucking G.O.A.T., I close out rounds like an Apple watch!”

Fonz defeats JC

Recap: After getting out-maneuvered lyrically in round 1 to a more condensed and spicier-punching JC, in this NOME XI battle from URL, Fonz ups his bar efficiency, ignores the JC mind tricks and uses a steady barrage of rigid punchlines, fierce wordplay/heaters, witty/hard-hitting personals, daunting set-ups, aggressive boasts and fiery name flips to edge the 2nd round and take the deciding 3rd over an opponent who while still serving up a gang of potent darts to keep the bout close, theme-wise was a little redundant in the latter rounds, spouted a few pedestrian bars here and there and dare we say it, was even a bit predictable with his punches at times.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “I’m on this Smack stage causing Terror next to Troy, the shit look like a PG event!”

Fonz defeats Drop Da Rula

Recap: Newest NWX member Fonz gets off to a hot start with his new team, letting off a barrage of consistently bruising punchlines, piercing name flips, graphic mayhem and flexing wordplay/personals/gun bars to beat back a hardbody, but inconsistent potent Drop Da Rula in this 1-rounder from State 2 State Hip Hop.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “New Midwest and I’m the nigga that showed you the way…North Star!”

Fonz defeats TID Glo

Recap: In this 1-rounder from Bar4Bar Rap Battle League, Fonz employs a blistering round of bruising punchlines, dizzying mayhem and sublime name flips to handily beat back a gritty and gun bar-lit, but mostly pedestrian TID Glo.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “And I could fight, damn right, I’ll ball this nigga up like action figure hands!”

Fonz defeats Reek Havik

Recap: From Shotz Fired Battle Rap League, even a Fonz who was never quite on his A-game does enough damage in this 1-rounder, what with a boatload of piercing punchlines and hardbody personals/gun bars, to beat back the loud and witty at times, but mostly pedestrian bars from Reek Havik.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “I went to his first battle, the shit was like a first floor balcony, the views ain’t shit!”

Ave defeats Fonz

Recap: Boastful barbs, hard-hitting punches, fiery gun bars and fierce name flips/personals aside, it’s a returning-to-the-scene Ave’s dope/metaphor-lit father/son, vet/rookie angle in the deciding 3rd round that edges what was another fire round from Fonz and that in turn earns the Norfolk, VA, vet the win here in this competitive 3-rounder from URL’s Born Legacy 11.

Verdict: Ave (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ave – “You get my drift, it’s not that I don’t honor shit you do, but Smack and them kept us distant that’s why our bond just never grew, you know how hard that is to view?, boy that shit gave me an Ultimate Madness, that why when I say was torn, I meant from you!”

Fonz defeats Drew B

Recap: Fonz’s boatload of boastful shiners, head-ringing bully talk and consistently spicy punchlines/name flips scores with enough haymakers to beat back a gritty and pretty solid effort from Drew B in this competitive 1-rounder from Gates of the Garden.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “You a homi, I bang cans, hang man, Drew a body!”

Fonz defeats Jey The Nitewing

Recap: In this battle for the championship of Ultimate Madness 1, neither Fonz or Jey The Nitewingare are able to bring their A-game. But its Nitewing who seems to suffer from the 2 weeks prep worse, as the West-coast battler was way less intricate with his raps and lackadaisical with his pen throughout his 3 rounds here. Leaving Fonz, bullish as ever, but not as punch-heavy as we’ve usually seen, but still with enough bite, moxie and rigid wordplay to his raps to edge the first two rounds and gain the $25K before a debatable 3rd.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “Oh, he don’t use gun bars? so how the King legacy ‘posed to continue if he too afraid to raise and air [an heir]?

Fonz defeats Spee Dolla

Recap: A vet like Spee Dolla can serve up gritty rhymes for days on end. But in this BlessDaMic 1-rounder that also featured a couple of yahoo’s in the crowd who apparently missed out on the memo of not speaking during the battler’s round, one too many mediocre punches from an elongated Spee to go along with an also aggressive Fonz dialing up a consistently fiery turn of rich schemes, some formidable wordplay, plenty of graphic mayhem and bruising punchlines, adds up to another win for the Big Dawg.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “I really spazz on bitches, blade to the face then slash through the eye like the password hidden!”

Ace Amin defeats Fonz

Recap: Sometimes your reputation can proceed you and perhaps that’s why Ace Amin lost this battle on the judge’s cards in the building. Indeed, frankly speaking and even with an embarrassing 2nd round choke, when it came to material and performance, Ace’s was better overall than Fonz’s in both the 1st and 3rd rounds. And isn’t it just supposed to be about bars? Because for all of Ace’s silly tough guy tactics throughout this battle (as well as his choppy flow), the former Gooonie’s rapid punchline game, fiery bully bars, steely/witty punchlines and mocking personals in the aforementioned rounds not only had more bite than Fonz’s did, but also lost in the commentary concerning this battle was Fonz’s own struggle’s with keeping his flow together as well as the Cleveland battler using name flips we’ve heard before on Ace. But when you’re a battler rapper becoming more and more known for bumping opponent’s in battles, near-fight’s (including one here), interviews and slip-ups than your ability to rap, maybe it’s time to hit the reset button on your career, especially after you blew a chance to win $25K.

Verdict: Ace Amin (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ace Amin – “Me nigga, I play with Glock .9’s and hecklers, when your serial [cereal] scratch it’s because you changed your mind ’bout breakfast!

Fonz defeats Eazy the Block Captain

Recap: Gritty, street-savvy, boastful and mostly (I thought Eazy had a pretty mediocre 2nd round) competitive battle between Eazy The Block Captain and Fonz contained a gang of fire 4-bar set-ups, head-ringing mayhem, rousing struggle bars and dope punchlines. But after getting edged in the 1st round (despite a seismic bump on his opponent), Fonz, a stickler for aggression throughout any battle he participates in, backed up his bullish ways with raucous/witty punches, scintillating personals and some flexing wordplay to take the latter two rounds for the win.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “I told him I’m a threat, the acid rip the skin off the body, I’m from Cleveland, we used to seeing Bone without the Flesh!”

Fonz defeats J Krooger

Recap: Plenty of righteous heat, rigorous mayhem, braggadocio shiners and hardbody punchlines in this Ultimate Madness battle between Fonz and the ever-reliable J Krooger. But with Fonz also mixing in some flexing name flips and spicy personals with his raps, the Cleveland, OH, rapper manages to edge round 1 before easily taking the middle round with a near flawless turn. J Krooger, who was also hurt by less consistent turns in the earlier rounds, did manage to turn it a bit in the 3rd round to make that one debatable.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “I bang straps, boy you get hit with that black thing, oh Krooger [Krueger] kill nigga’s in they sleep?, well lucky we on Caffeine!”

Recap: One too many Shotgun Suge references in the 1st round cost him a 30, but a stellar, punchline/personal-crazy, name flip-spazzing, gun-centric and wordplay meaty 2nd and 3rd rounds gives Fonz the win over Jai 400 Block (who went ham in the opening round, but proved to be less consistent in the latter rounds) in this 3-round Born Legacy battle from Smack/URL.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “This nigga Chinese mustard, I finna put him in the bag for nuthin’!”

Fonz defeats Duce

Recap: A true ‘away game’ for Fonz when you consider that he takes on opponent Duce in the latter’s home state of Florida, the Cleveland, Ohio battler still manages to dominate this 3-rounder from URL’s Born Legacy 6 card. Indeed, in front of an electric crowd, Fonz uses a boatload of sizzling gun bars, disrespectful personals, fire set-ups, boastful barbs and hard-hitting punchlines to handily beat back a gritty and solid effort from Duce, who while sporting a versatile array of pointed darts, hometown pizzazz and some spicy off-the-dome zingers, too often took too long to get to his punches and overall just couldn’t keep up with Fonz’s rapid bangers.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “Give Duce [deuce] a buck-fifty, I’ll lower his face value!”

Fonz defeats Da Spot

Recap: A debatable 3rd round, but if Da Spot thought his nifty punchlines packed enough heat to spin haymaker after haymaker and get him the edge in a couple of consecutive, shortened rounds, he was wrong. As the Fonz’s more raucous punches, West-coast disses, daunting wordplay, mocking name flips and piercing guns bars did more than enough damage to take the aforementioned early rounds and get the win.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “Instead I’m matched up with Da Spot and I’m killing this bitch, all it takes is one shot and I ain’t missing the hit, it’s like watching Pornhub, after the [raises arm like gun] bust I don’t finish the clip!”

Fonz defeats DG Da Paronta

Recap: In what was a pretty solid PG battle from URL, a spitfire, witty and punch-heavy turn by DG Da Paronta in the 3rd round comes too late as Fonz’s rambunctious, 4-set-up-spazzing, wordplay/gun bar-heavy and punchline-crazy 1st and 2nd rounds already worked to outscore his less consistent opponent and give the Cleveland spitter the win.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “I got some shit that’ll fuck up a nigger features, I’m talking shotties, choppers, Glock’s, 9MM’s different heaters, light up the porch like we handing out candy for the trick-or-treaters!”

Fonz defeats Dre Dennis

Recap: Going right at his opponent’s sometimes tired use of gun bars, but also scoring with a barrage of gritty punchlines, witty/bullish personals and piercing wordplay, an overall more versatile Fonz manages to deliver more heat in rounds 1 and 3 for the win here in this We Go Hard battle versus Dre Dennis (who had a gun-heavy and elongated, but superb 2nd round, if only he could scheme more with the artillery instead of relying so much on 4-bar set-ups).

Verdict: Fonz (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Fonz – “You want it Dre?, we could do it however you want to play, the gun will spray or I’ll slump you right now, leave him sleeping in front of a fan like a summer day!”

Chef Trez defeats Fonz

Recap: Chef Trez visits opponent Fonz’s home league, Bar4Bar Rap Battles, and impresses throughout, delivering a gang of slicing punchlines, flagrant gun bars, some fire rebuttals and a boatload of gritty 4-bar-set-ups to beat back a pretty solid, raucous, witty and personal, but also elongated 3 rounds from Fonz. The Cleveland spitter, who kept things competitive for the entire match, did manage to put enough haymakers together in the final round to score a draw after getting edged in the prior two rounds.

Verdict: Chef Trez (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Chef Trez – “I warned him that my flow is dangerous, word to the Caution signs, I took a pay cut, you getting whipped for cheap nigger, it’s auction time!”

Fonz defeats Veg Villa

Recap: In this lengthy 3-rounder from Bar4Bar Rap Battle League, Fonz uses a gang of piercing punchlines, wily personals and hardbody darts to take all 3 rounds and handily beat back a storytelling rich and witty at times, but largely indirect and slip-up prone Veg Villa.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “I told you, lil nigga, it’s the reason I’m hot, these lines amaze nigga’s, that’s the back of the cereal box!”

prez mafia defeats Fonz

Recap: A stellar first round (performance & wordplay) by Prez and a more quantitative 3rd edged him a dub here as while Foz dropped some nice bars here and there, too much filler and elongated punchlines left him coming up just short.

Verdict: prez mafia (W) 2-1

Favorite line: prez mafia – “I’mma come through dumping a .9 early, this is war, I keep two straps, let’s try…nigga that’s one out and one down, prez looking like 9:30!”

Fonz defeats Osage

Recap: Osage probably should’ve stuck with the animal bars he used aplenty early on in round 1. As afterwards, in this 3-round battle from Bar4Bar Battle League, Fonz’s fiery punches/schemes and wily personals, a problem for his opponent throughout the bout, would easily prove to be tough enough to outscore The WillDaBeast’s more abstract raps in both of the latter rounds.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “Play goofy with Fonz and I’m a leave you on some vegetable shit, let that snub nose rub him out liek an Eskimo kiss!”

Fonz defeats Yung Daz

Recap: Showing off his funny bone with a bunch of piercing storytelling bars and witty personals when he wasn’t being his usual punch-worthy self, Fonz easily wins all 3 rounds in what was essentially was a lay-up over a mostly subpar Yung Daz in this matchup from TwoSixteens.

Verdict: Fonz (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Fonz – “So what if ya bitch a little thicker I’ll still dick her to her waist so, you don’t never hit her, you just lick her like a state stub!”
