Franchise defeats Arsonal

Recap: From KOTD, taking a page from opponent Arsonal’s book of disrespect, Franchise utilizes a bunch of bad-mannered personals while also mixing in some sturdy gun bars, lofty trap talk and gritty punchlines that with a steadier effort flow-wise and a Rebel who while hitting at times, could never seem to approach his A-game when it came to punches, gave the Canadian battler the 30.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Franchise – “We ain’t pussy at all hey, we had jux in the hallway, bitch, I seen a cross-eye nigga get shot because he kept looking the wrong way!”

Franchise defeats Dev The Demon

Recap: Predominantly unleashing the heavy gun bars throughout this Riot Network 3-rounder, but also bent on graphic mayhem as well as some solid punches/personals/name flips, Franchise does enough to hold steady with a raucous and personal-savvy Dev The Demon for two rounds, before taking advantage of a couple slip-ups from his opponent, while spouting yet another turn of unbridled heat in the deciding 3rd to gain the win.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Franchise – “You with no action, stop capping, them shootous, I am not jacking, I remember late nights I was a type savage, robbing nigger’s and giving they shit back, it was called practice!”

JC defeats Franchise

Recap: Matching his opponent’s consistent love for gun bars with plenty of piercing heat of his own, while also adding a gang of mocking personals, rigid name flips and fiery punchlines/wordplay to the mix, JC does enough in each round to score a 30 on Franchise in this exclusive 3-rounder from the URL App.

Verdict: JC (W) 3-0

Favorite line: JC – “So how you always throw these punches, but I land mine better, I’ll send a shooter to Toronto so fucking accurate he’ll leave with a Franchise record!”

Th3 Saga defeats Franchise

Recap: Took him getting off ‘Zen mode’, but versus the heat coming opponent Franchise’s prolific trap talk, gun bars and righteous personals, after edging the 1st round and then getting out-punched in the 2nd, Th3 Saga summons an aggressive and uplifting set of boastful shiners, hitting punchlines and piercing wordplay to take the deciding 3rd round for the win.

Verdict: Th3 Saga (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Th3 Saga – “Ninja blade, you throw a star at a Franchise, you get a Dynasty!”

Tink Da Demon defeats Franchise

Recap: Tink Da Demon’s return to battle rap is a successful one…but barely as with an able assist from the efficiency of opponent Franchise’s prolific gun bars lessening and lessening as the battle continued, Da Demon’s fabled tributes to debauchery, fiery schemes/wordplay and pointed personals do enough to edge the latter rounds (after Franchise took the 1st) of this Ultimate Madness 2 matchup and keep him in the tournament.

Verdict: Tink Da Demon (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Tink Da Demon – “The reason you gonna die tonight is that ego, not knowing that I control whoever I mettle [medal] with like Magneto, get your soul lifted, pole shifted, you done shook the hand of every man that had a style you liked and went Rogue with it!”

Glueazy defeats Franchise

Recap: Even with Glueazy mixing in some shots at T-Top and his ex bro’s in The Gooonies, the North Carolina rapper’s more versatile punches, fiery personals and flexing heat is enough to edge a mayhem-drench and gun bar-heavy, but less multifaceted and a little pedestrian bar-prone round by Franchise in this 1-round Quarantined battle from URL.

Verdict: Glueazy (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Glueazy – “Big Mac 11, but I ain’t gotta name this one, it’s a Smith and Wesson, ironic, y’all gave him 4 minutes to live and he died by a .357!”

Shotgun Suge defeats Franchise

Recap: In this hard-hitting 3-rounder from Smack, doing his research pays off big for Shotgun Suge, who with a boatload of stinging personals and fierce punchlines during the first couple of rounds hit to the duplicity of his opponent Franchise’s love for gun bars and other notorious street semantics. Indeed, Suge’s consistently flagrant and versatile execution of his bars would astutely work to overcome the Canadian rapper’s systematic mayhem that while mostly potent here, seemed prototypical at times and at times also lacked his more multifaceted opponent’s flair for gritty urban narratives and flexing punches. Franchise would however deliver enough consistent heat, performance-ready punches and stifling struggle bars to edge the 3rd.

Verdict: Shotgun Suge (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Shotgun Suge – “Hey Smack, I still let the nina clap, you got me battling a soccer player?, I need a fee for that!”

E. Ness defeats Franchise

Recap: Taking advantage of a Franchise who wasn’t quite on his A-game throughout this match, much less was perhaps a little too bent on attempting to display his versatility beyond his usual dispensary of flagrant gun bars, E. Ness’ 1st and 3rd round combo of nifty punchlines and salacious name flips/performance bars work with enough efficiency to take each round and win this highly entertaining battle.

Verdict: E. Ness (W) 2-1

Favorite line: E. Ness – “I’ll leave ya next to ya big homie and let him decide, ya casket it fit perfect…like a Tasty cake lemon pie!”

So Severe defeats Franchise

Recap: Mild upset here as a more versatile, bodacious, (“Word master, yeah you got booked but I turn chapters!”) punch-heavy and name flip happy So Severe does just enough to come back from a (“I grip something, Tek’s [texts] on the low like my bitch coming!”) gun-lit and trap talk spouting 1st round loss here to Franchise, before edging (with the help of fire rebuttal to start things) both the 2nd and 3rd rounds over a a pretty solid Franchise with one more haymaker while also spitting more condensed turns.

Verdict: So Severe (W) 2-1

Favorite line: So Severe – “Kill yourself, I’ll give him the ropes…I fucked up more nigger’s than Henny and Coke!”

Franchise defeats Jakkboy Maine

Recap: Against a totally unprepared and capitulated Jakkboy Maine, Franchise’s gratuitous forms mayhem go on full tilt via a shitload of potent gun bars, fiending set-ups, some witty punchlines and wicked personals/name flips. Add to that a spirited Franchise coming extra vigorous with his performance throughout the battle plus coming better with his angles and an opponent willfully conceding defeat at the end of yet another shortened round and you’re left with a rare body shipped overnight and overseas from Canada to Virginia.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Franchise – “You not ready, two hands on the bitch, I hold my Glock steady, big-ass gun, and the clip sticking out like Rex belly!”

Ave defeats Franchise

Recap: Sure, Franchise had a heavily armed and spitfire round 1 (which I had him edging in spite of a dope, punch-heavy turn by Ave). But when you’re equipped with 90 percent gun bars, maintaining such a raucous pace can be a challenge and it showed. As while Ave stayed on his opponent’s neck, during this URL Born Legacy 7 bout, with even more brazen punchlines, witty/flexing personals, fiery schemes and hard-hitting mayhem/name flips in the latter rounds (all the while challenging his opponent’s street cred), Franchise just couldn’t stay on key, delivering both a gun-centric, but topsy-turvy 2nd and 3rd round on his way to a loss.

Verdict: Ave (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Ave – “So whoever try to help get extra, I tried to tell y’all from teh gate, Franchise ain’t safe, we health inspectors!”

Danny Myers defeats Franchise

Recap: A 3rd round choke by Danny Myers still doesn’t take away from the too cold ‘Bar God’ hitting with enough consistently raucous, punchline-savvy and name flip-lit (esp. during a stellar 2nd round) bars in both of the opening rounds, while beating back a sublime at times, but gun-bar obsessed, a bit redundant with the set-ups and elongated Franchise in this fiery and competitive Banned battle from URL.

Verdict: Danny Myers (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Danny Myers – “Every line got a gun, he sho’ got over here though, look how loud we clappin’, these rounds, two .30’s [2:30’s], maybe two .45’s [2:45’s] with crowd reaction!”

Franchise defeats Chef Trez

Recap: In sports, just because you know what play the opposing coach is drawing up, doesn’t guarantee that you’ll win the game. And the same theory applies to Franchise, who despite almost always slinging 90% gun bars, still makes for a formidable opponent with his graphic punches, rich performance bars and at times witty verbiage. That said, the Canadian battler’s commitment to dispensing heat is what gets him the edge in this URL/Born Legacy 6 battle against Chef Trez. A consistently energetic, gun line-centric, punch-drunk and haymaker-drenched round 1 goes Franchise’s way before Trez (who despite losing the opening round, still had a pretty dope turn) went ham in the 2nd round with what might be a record ‘5 of those things’ (aka rebuttals) that along with some spicy name flips, fire gun lines and fierce personals/set-ups, nicely combined to tie things up heading into the 3rd round. The last round was a close one with Trez delivering his usual tasty combo of rich punches/personals and off-the-dome burners. But despite getting off to a bit of a slow start, Mr. No Lacking uses a series of gritty street darts, power punches and steely mayhem to edge the final round for the win.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Franchise – “Dump the body, toss the heat, talk is cheap, creep up with the ladder like Dawson’s Creek!”

Mack Mel defeats Franchise

Recap: Jakkboy Maine, Nu Jerzey Twork and Mack Mel. Is it safe to say that the Goonies are making quite an impression with these BANNED battles? Still, this one was close, with Franchise’s stirring (“Got this nigga checking for bullets, Mack doing the Macarena!”) performance bars and relentless heat serving up a multitude of fiery haymakers throughout the battle. But helped a bit by a couple of elongated rounds from his opponent, Mack’s ability to consistently dish spitfire punches, flashy gun lines, crazy set-ups, flexing bully bars, urban storytelling and steely (“I raise the glock and put a stock in Franchise, that’s good investment!”) wit/name flips, edges him the 2nd and 3rd rounds after a haymaker-drenched 1st caught him a debatable there.

Verdict: Mack Mel (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Mack Mel – “Whatever I lift from the short, whatever it hit it disperse, the clip long as the last 20 minutes at work!”

Franchise defeats Prep

Recap: In a tale of one guy (Franchise) for the most part sticking to what he does really well: performance rich while dishing potent gun bars and fiery trap talk and another (Prep) straying away from what he does well: freestyles, rebuttals and trendy punchlines/schemes, the former easily gets the win. Not that Franchise didn’t attempt to be more versatile here, mixing in a few spicy personals and punch-heavy darts/schemes along the way. But with Prep (outside a pretty solid 1st round) off-balance and filler-prone throughout, his Canadian opponent’s steady and aggressive heat could only add up to a 30.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Franchise – “You watching Spongebob with your daughter?, I’ll ease my way in your crib then I turn it off, with a big clip, she can’t watch this, it’s Rated R!”

Bedaffi Green and Franchise [DEBATABLE]

Recap: In what was a spitfire We Go Hard battle, a slightly more versatile, punch/wordplay-heavy and confidently rebuttal spitting Bedaffi Green does just enough to earn a tie with Franchise. And trust that Green needed to unload the whole kitchen sink what with two epic name flip stinging, scintillating (“Pistol whip Bedaffi, have Green leaking down your screen, that’s the goosebumps!”) gun bar shining and haymaker-drenched rounds from his performance-heavy, Canadian opponent who seemingly had this one in the bag going into the bottom of the 3rd after the two battlers split the first two rounds. But Bedaffi wasn’t having any of it, getting his Chef Trez on with ‘3 of them things’ to start off his turn, before delivering just enough fierce punches along with some aggressive and potent heaters to make this one a draw.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Bedaffi Green – “If he panic, Steve Francis, the Heat play Franchise gonna look fucked up!”

Franchise defeats Grips Loc

Recap: In this one-rounder from Beastmode, Franchise has the advantage of taking on an opponent, Grips Loc, who came to battle on only two days notice. That edge amounts to an easy lay-up for Franchise, who unapologetically serves up a barrage of righteous gun bars and spirited punchlines for the win over solid here and there, but clearly over-matched opponent.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Franchise – “Silencer on it, fuck that, I grab the nina and dump it, head shot, chin down, look like he sleeping in public!”

Joe defeats Franchise

Recap: Nifty punchlines and rabid gun bars highlight this URL battle between Joe and Franchise, with a more consistent and fiery (“This ratchet will fuck a Franchise up, it’s a Kardashian!”) Joe taking the 1st round, while (“You talking shit, till your whole squad get lit, it was all Love and Hip-Hop till Joe got a sucker punch and that’s just a Consequence!”) Franchise turned up enough in the 2nd to edge that round and have it 1-1 going into the 3rd. And while neither battler was spectacular in the deciding round, Franchise’s angle to get personal and (predictably) racial with a barrage of struggle life bars could’ve been a lot better, esp when you consider that his bars were more about his battle rap career than his life outside of it. With that, Joe, continuing to bring it with aggressive punches and nicer set-ups, makes it to the finish line ahead with a turn that was more solid overall despite a few dry spots here and there.

Verdict: Joe (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Joe – “He talking about White Men can’t Jump…now I got this bitch in Jeopardy!”

Franchise defeats Brooklyn Carter

Recap: Long-awaited matchup between KOTD’s Franchise and Brooklyn Carter turns out to be pretty solid with a wide assortment of nice schemes, potent gun bars, righteous (BC: “I’ll treat him just like a Franchise, I’ll keep giving him bucks untikl the caps gone!”) name flips and fierce (Franchise: “Think Biggie in the studio, my ratchet lil Kim, we all know that you ate Lil pussy!”) wordplay/punchlines. However, after splitting the first two rounds, while both battlers continued to make it competitive what with plenty of gas left in their tanks, it’s Franchise, with a more consistent and steadier barrage of heated and aggressive lines than his opponent, that ends up taking this one home for Canada.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Franchise – Head shot…make a body fly across the room like Twerk push!”

Franchise defeats A. Ward

Recap: A highly competitive battle between Franchise and A. Ward results in the former using aggressive schemes, lucid gun bars and a load of fiery punchlines to take rounds 1 and 2, and thus a well-earned win on his home turf.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Franchise – “Yo, what up, it’s time for your man to die my friend, he Christ-like?! [bwoh!]. I bet you that this body won’t arise again!”

Cortez defeats Franchise

Recap: Against the Grind Time Cortez, Franchise’s almost exclusive, one-themed braggadocio quips and guns (“Big scope, best view of court [Cort], that’s floor seats!”) bars (during the first couple of rounds at least) might’ve worked in the sense that that version of Cortez was pretty much made from the same cloth. But in 2016, a more diversified Cortez is much harder to beat, especially when he’s spitting repeated (“We could scrap, ‘cuz with these hands, I’ll lay ya, but if he lack, he’ll get the Mac’s, since you want to be the Franchise player!”) heat, delicious wordplay and name flips as he does here. Thankfully, for battle rap future anyway, Franchise displayed a better assortment of bars in the last round, but by then, what with Tez’s continuous brazenness, it was way too late.

Verdict: Cortez (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Cortez – “It’s crazy, this guppy, one hook will have him scaling back, spine shot Baah!, where he at?, nah he can’t walk, he paralyzed, aw fuck it, they got chairs for that!”

Franchise defeats Tez

Recap: Equipped with enough versatility what with witty one-liners, straight shots at his opponent’s penchant for gun bars and some fierce punchlines/rebuttals, going into the deciding 3rd round, Tez looked like he was going to take this bout against Franchise. However, a more condensed and strong 3rd from Franchise combined with an out-of-nowhere failure to remember his bars (tho he did almost make it through with freestyles) by Tez, gives Franchise the vic.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Franchise – “I’m knocking on your door with [makes arm like gun] an arm out like a good pastor!”

Younga Baby defeats Franchise

Recap: Younga Baby keeps up with opponent Franchise’s love for destruction and mayhem via stifling gun bars enough to split the first two rounds, before a surprising choke by Franchise in the deciding 3rd round leaves plenty of room for Mr. Baby’s continued flexing, much less a win that was capped off by a fire mid-round rebuttal.

Verdict: Younga Baby (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Younga Baby – “Come get me nigga, I see why you giving me the side-eye…’cuz you a fishy nigga!”

Lotta Zay defeats Franchise

Recap: Even with a boatload of filler from both rappers, Franchise’s lack of bite to most of his bars as well as 3 elongated rounds from the Canadian spitter hurts him more in the long run. That leaves a more condensed and wordplay-heavier Lotta Zay with enough room to edge this one.

Lotta Zay: (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Lotta Zay – “This the intervention, but I can’t find the pussy nowhere…like that pic of Calicoe skinny-dipping!”

Franchise defeats Joey Gambello

Recap: Exponentially dishing on a 101 different ways he can use his gun, Franchise unleashes more than enough heat, trap talk and stirring punchlines to take all 3 rounds and easily beat back an inconsistent Joey Gambello.

Verdict: Franchise (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Franchise – “Extended clip, so long, it’s like a membership!”

Troy Brown (Bal. ) defeats Franchise

Recap: Punchline-heavy until he regresses a bit in the 3rd, Troy Brown edges a solid and performance-heavy Franchise in the 1st round with a nice rebuttal and then again in the 2nd with a more condensed turn when placed side-by-side with his opponent’s mostly one-note themed drenched round. That’s enough for a win from Brown, even if you think the final round could be edged to Franchise for struggling less with his flow as well as his bar quotient.

Verdict: Troy Brown (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Troy Brown – “If I lose, I’m clapping it up…that’s good sportsmanship!”
