Shotgun Suge defeats Funeral F.A.M.E.

Recap: From Our Society Battle League, even while battling for only 3 minutes (while his aggressive and gun bar-lit opponent Funeral F.A.M.E. battled for like 8) with less quantitative filler and a boatload of explosive punches/name flips, Shotgun Suge does enough to edge this gritty 1-rounder.

Verdict: Shotgun Suge (W) 1-0

NXT defeats Funeral F.A.M.E.

Recap: Having seen a couple of NXT battles (him vs. Saynt is extra dope) before he hit the URL stage, one can attest to the immense amount of talent the kid has. And I’m willing to bet that Funeral F.A.M.E. does too…especially after this matchup. As the cadence-flexible NXT delivers 3 rounds of savage heat via a gang of head-twisting punchlines, fierce wordplay, stinging name flips and aggressive, performance-boosted mayhem to beat back an opponent who was altogether loud, loaded and gritty, but too-often reliant on name flips in the earlier rounds until he got more versatile and hitting with his bars during a standout 3rd round, which in turn forced a debatable and allowed F.A.M.E. to avoid the shutout.

Verdict: NXT (W) 2-1

Favorite line: NXT – “You sloppy, they only think you crazy when you yelling, you could be AWOL with a white sheet…watch your projection!”

Prep defeats Funeral F.A.M.E.

Recap: Short, but fiery on both sides, battle between Prep and Funeral F.A.M.E. sees them go at it in a 1-rounder that’s highlighted by Prep’s ability to deftly mix in fierce written punchlines/name flips with nasty freestyles on everything from lines from previous battles to wall murals. And tho Funeral F.A.M.E. delivered a solid, name-flip lit effort in return, Prep’s more stable punches, versatile hijinks and verbal dexterity makes it a well-earned win for the DMV.

Verdict: Prep (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Prep – “Your bitch text me when you all alone, she hit me like ‘that short nigga at work’, I threw on cologne, I was beating that pussy up, knowing what I’m doing is wrong, just bodying the box…all in Funeral home!”

Real Sikh defeats Funeral F.A.M.E.

Recap: Displaying an adept ability to switch up from hardbody vibes to witty personals to tactical name flips, after a debatable 1st round here against a solid Funeral F.A.M.E., Real Sikh’s (who also had a couple of nice freestyles during the battle) wide array of rhymes and flexing haymakers allows him to easily take the latter two rounds for the win.

Verdict: Real Sikh (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Real Sikh – “Small muthafucka’s struggle the most, but that’s the experience that he’s after, where do you think he get his material as a rapper?, he had to climb to get the Fruit Loops off the fridge, that’s when he thought: ‘I got the serial on the ladder!'”
