GE defeats QP

Recap: With old personals rankling a few feathers here and there, GE versus QP (Quantum Physics) quickly turns from a battle of contrasting styles to a tension-filled bout that clearly got under QP’s skin after his opponent brought up some notorious sexual allegations during his 2nd round. Not that a QP tag-in and struggle with his bars the final round would matter anyway as a more consistently fire GE’s crime-riddled trap talk, witty barbs and expressive wordplay combined to beat back QP’s even more exotic punches/performance bars in the earlier rounds, before a non-competitive 3rd solidified the 30.

Verdict: GE (W) 3-0

Favorite line: GE – “Ain’t gonna say no names, when I come ain’t no games, see piping ahit, he turn Damon Wayans, start talking about his wife and kids, sitcom, they all on the couch, barely suffered major pain [Major Payne], if I don’t get every little ounce, they all dead, Get it?, That shit go together!, Damon Wayans, Major Payne…everybody on the couch got a bald head!?

GE defeats Marv Won

Recap: It’s nothing but consistent mayhem, violence, heavy wordplay, trap talk and that gritty street shit from a prophetic GE, indeed enough savagery to beat back a solid and more versatile, but not quite as potent or rich on haymakers Marvwon, in this one round battle from Ruin Your Day.

Verdict: GE (W) 1-0

Favorite line: GE – “Little nigga, with a fire arm, I’m Mega Man!”

GE defeats Mike G

Recap: Rare 1-round PG sees Mike G come with some hardbody punchlines that were mixed in with  a little wit, altogether making for a solid performance. But a few too many pedestrian bars from Mike along with an action-packed, trap-centric and wordplay/punch-heavy turn from GE just proves to be too much in the end.

Verdict: GE (W) 1-0

Favorite line: GE – “‘Cuz he talk about touching grams and letting ratchet’s ride, y’all like that?, not me, I ain’t see Mike black since Jackson 5!”

GE defeats Quban

Recap: As surprising as it is to see GE still in the PG’s all these years later, at least his rhyme patterns and skill set haven’t faltered any. Here against the up-n-comer (“This ain’t about who’s older or who’s younger, this a has-been vs. pure hunger, kill them all, count up the bodies, R. Kelly, Aaliyah, A-G-E [Hey, GE] ain’t nuthin’ but a number!”) Quban, the Wisconsin vet does just enough to pull out a tough one, coming back after a round 1 loss to edge the latter two rounds with a rapid set of fire punchlines, fiery set-ups, some flinching personals and loud (“Nigga, don’t play with me, you ain’t gotta wait and see, these chopper’s come out first…like baby teeth!”) gun bars. Indeed, while the battle stayed close and competitive throughout, a few too many pedestrian bars by Quban and a more consistent and wordplay-heavy GE in the deciding 3rd also settled matters.

Verdict: GE (W) 2-1

Favorite line: GE – “Fuck all that, I came to get my shit back, and I don’t black, I O.J.!”

Rambo defeats GE

Recap: Seen Rambo before in a fire WeGoHard matchup versus Stumbles, so was already aware that the kid had potential. Here against the always gritty and gun-bar slinging GE, Rambo stays up to speed, delivering hardbody punchlines, fire wordplay and some mean personals to edge what was an overall solid, but a little repetitive and chronic dry-spot having turn from GE.

Verdict: Rambo (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Rambo – “Nigga, let’s cut the shit, ‘cuz this battle ain’t fucking fair, I asked for a nigga from the hood, C Hit went in the trunk and pulled out a fucking spare!”

GE defeats Brixx Belvedere

Recap: Didn’t know that Brixx Belvedere appeared on Smack/URL (w/o a co-signed league) before. And the fact that this video isn’t stamped with a URL logo on it doesn’t help one notice either. Nonetheless, still a solid battle with the nifty punchlines and wordplay of Brixx facing off against the prolific gun bar dishing and mayhem-drenched GE. A close battle throughout, with an almost equal amount of haymakers from each side dished throughout the bout, it’s a more condensed GE, helped too by a cleaner flow than his slip-up prone opponent, that edges rounds 1 and 2 (Round 3: debatable) for the win.

Verdict: GE (W) 2-1

Favorite line: GE – “I’m nice, I’ll walk you across the street and let a car hit you!”

GE defeats Brizz Rawsteen

Recap: Pretty dope battle between GE and Brizz Rawsteen, but yet another reason to hate one-rounders as these two competitive juices more than flowed, thus enhancing the chances it would’ve stayed entertaining throughout. That said, the edge here goes to GE. Brizz defeinitely had his (“In Milwaukee you’ll catch crazy shot in your projects from a Coo Coo Cal!”) moments and came with his usual aggression, but some bars fell a little flat and there were a couple of minor slip-ups. While GE’s wordplay/punchlines was at times sick, he also executed (“Now who gonna stop me?, no you, you ain’y all that seasoned, Set It Off tho and you’ll die like Stoney brother for doing all that reaching!”) nicely, spit some potent performance (“These pair will echo, cannon on the right, cannon on the right, like Rafael De La Ghetto!”) bars and stayed way more consistent in his round to get the dub.

Verdict: GE (W) 1-0

Favorite line: GE – “Two arms up, 12 o clock, you know the time, your nigga watch, point one at him, now it’s 12:05”

GE defeats Buck

Recap: “Go and tell coach you can’t play with me!” Up against some hard bars within a round you thought was never gonna end, GE puts together a benevolent round of rebuttals, “That shit go together” schemes and heavy (“Bring these magazines to the front door, make you the subscriber”) wordplay/punchlines to cop this one-rounder.

Verdict: GE (W) 1-0

Favorite line: GE – “Niggas buy drinks when you rap, ‘cuz you ain’t the one they wanted to hear”

GE defeats Logic

Recap: “That shit go together!”, unlike Goodz I don’t mind slogans, it’s all a part of building your brand and ain’t nothing wrong with that. That said, bar-wise this one was close, some might run with Logic on authenticity and reality, but even in person you never underestimate the small guy. So based on overall bars, creativity, schemes and performance I got Logic (who surprisingly stayed away from name flips) edging the 1st round and GE edging the latter two.

Verdict: GE (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Logic – “That clip from the lead will snatch that bitch out the bed like the Conjuring”

GE defeats G.A.

Recap: Before cracking the code to his bars in order to supplement his famous ‘That Shit Go Together’ slogan, GE was still slinging fierce trap talk, deft personals and aggressive heat that made you pay attention. That’s especially seen here in a wanton grudge match against a solid and scheme-heavy G.A., who matches his opponent’s overall grit in a fiery round one, before, thanks in part to too many pedestrian bars, gets edged by GE in the latter rounds in what overall was a close and competitive battle.

Verdict: GE (W) 2-1

Favorite line: GE – “Now y’all be honest, me verse this nigga, what y’all think I’m a do?, bars or shot’s? either way, drink’s on you!”

GE defeats Mac N Cheeze

Recap: Not quite a bodybag to add his resume (Mac N Cheeze pretty much took the first round off), but GE still drops enough hot bars and witty punchlines to take this one even after his opponent finally woke up in round 2.

Verdict: GE (W) 2-0.

Favorite line: GE – “Sometimes I shoot for no reason like New Years Eve”
