Recap: Along with using her star power without an ounce of humility, Ms. Hustle enlists a gang of braggadocios darts, some biting name flips, witty barbs and a bunch of bruising punchlines/personals to beat back a gritty and mostly solid, but a bit flow-challenged effort from Illa in this 1-rounder from Union Battle League.

Verdict: Ms. Hustle (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Ms. Hustle – “Let me guess, you a thug and you gonna talk to ne like you G’d up, nigag please, you lite-skin, you text on your stomach with your feet up!”

J. Murda defeats Illa

Recap: Both Illa and J. Murda do their thing in this 1-rounder from Universl Bars Battle League, kicking gritty street shit along with some greasy gun bars and fiery name flips to keep things competitive. But while Illa was mostly solid throughgout, it’s Murda who gets the edge here, what with a little more consistency to his heat, displaying some wit, dishing fiery performance bars and potent schemes that included a couple that flexed his knowledge of classic hip-hop album covers.

Verdict: J. Murda (W) 1-0

Favorite line: J. Murda – “You better show the fuck up, ‘cuz this ya test to rhyme with others, how’d he do?, the lead flew, and blew Red all over the room…he passed with flying colors!”

Swamp defeats Illa

Recap: We Go Hard battle between Swamp and Illa sees the latter keep with close throughout with a rich combo of dope (“Let this nigger cross me, choppers coming out…false teeth!”) punchlines, fly schemes and some nice name flips. But even with a slight slip-up in the 1st round, overall Swamp just came with more heat, the South Carolina battler scoring left and right with a crazy and (“You ain’t fucking with me, I’m too lethal, I been to hell and back twice, my life got two sequels!”) punch-heavy opening round, before also taking the latter two rounds with a bunch of sizzling trap talk, witty personals, lofty performance lines and fiery gun bars/punches/set-ups to earn the 30.

Verdict: Swamp (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Swamp – “Soon as I pull up, I hop out that bitch, Kobe Bryant with the stick, I done hit so many, they don’t give a fuck how many shots I done missed!”
