Recap: From Gates of the Garden, going to guess that there’s a lovely backstory between King Chi and that light-skin dude he was snapping at towards the end of the his round. Nonetheless, still a pretty solid effort from Chi in this 1-rounder, what with a bunch of spicy, unorthodox punches, some bodacious freestyles and sturdy wit comprising his turn to make things competitive. But with a gritty mix of hitting gun bars, bold street themes, flexing name flips and a gang of sublime punchlines that more than hit, at the end of the day it’s the storied vet Cortez who takes this one.

Verdict: Cortez (W) 1-0

Recap: My guess is that Ill Will had someplace he needed to be in a hurry as he ends this HanknationTV 1-rounder against a gritty, but a bit flow-challenged and topsy-turvy King Chi early in his round, using some mind-numbling name flips and gun bars to deliver the kill before settling back with more fiery punchlines, witty screeds and scattered boasts on his way to an easy win.
