Recap: If you thought that a battle rapper who happened to be named Lu Cipher (as in ‘Lucifer’, get it?) was getting a battle versus a popular Christian battle rapper (in this case Loso) based on his unique moniker alone, you would be wrong. Because with a nice combo of nifty punchlines, nimble lyricism and a supreme confidence that let’s him decide if his own bars were ‘trash’ (even if you dared have the gumption to cheer them on), Lu Cipher is a pretty solid and versatile rapper. Thus, a competitive and fiery bout which thankfully for his sake, a slightly more consistent Loso didn’t take for granted, using fierce name flips, stunted schemes and jaunty personals/punches to edge what was a close rounds 1 and 2 and earn the win.
Verdict: Loso (W) 2-1
Favorite line: Loso -“Bro, I wasn’t even going to kill you, I was gonna let you make a truce with us, but since the devil wears Prada, I had a designer bag for Lu Cipher [Lucifer]!”
