Sheed Happens defeats Swamp

Recap: His floetic stylings measured adequately with punch-lit calibrations, while also taking on a gritty, rigid storytelling, performance-heavy at times and versatile synergy that proved consistent and successful in the end, Sheed Happens also takes advantage of a competitive, but less steady punching Swamp to edge this 1-rounder from OSBL.

Verdict: Sheed Happens (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Sheed Happens – “If nobody wants to found victim, think Down Syndrome, everybody face the same way!”

Danny Myers defeats Sheed Happens

Recap: From URL’s Traffic 6 card, a goodie between Danny Myers and Sheed Happens features the latter’s effervescent, performance-lit shakedowns and righteous personals versus the former’s fiery name flips coupled with a gang of mayhem-lit punches/gun bars and storied narratives. Close throughout in front of a Phoenix, AZ, crowd in tune with every bar, with the help of some fly rebuttals, outside of a debatable round 2, it’s the slightly more haymaker-lit Myers who edges rounds 1 and 3 for the win.

Verdict: Danny Myers (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Danny Myers – “When you combine Bill Collector and Daylyt…THIS Happens!”

Sheed Happens defeats 40 B.A.R.R.S.

Recap: In this 1-rounder from OSBL, despite a bit of a slow start from Sheed Happens that included a head-scratching cameo from some dude in the crowd, the performance-heavy Maryland rapper’s more biting punches, eccentric personals/set-ups, graphic haymakers and stifling street rhymes in the latter half of his round prove to e more than enough to beat back a 40 B.A.R.R.S, who stayed competitive with a gang of slick wordplay, but overall couldn’t match the heat of her more consistent opp.

Verdict: Sheed Happens (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Sheed Happens – “I’ll treat that fridge like the middle of the mall, how the fuck did they get a car in there?!”

Shotgun Suge defeats Sheed Happens

Recap: With his sturdy flow, flagrant set-up/punches and gritty rhymes Sheed Happens does his thing in this 3-round URL ‘Outside’ matchup. But a couple of slow starts by the DMV rapper combined with a more condensed/efficient Shotgun Suge who stayed on point throughout the bout with a bunch of bullish/braggart barbs, some stinging wordplay and flippant punchlines/gun bars, gets the NJ vet rounds 2 and 3 for the win after a debatable 1st.

Verdict: Shotgun Suge (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Shotgun Suge – “You know you talking to a nigga who live the online mode in GTA!”

JC defeats Sheed Happens

Recap: These time limits in URL’s SM5 tourney need to be fixed and can Smack, at the very least, pretend he’s listening to battles while they’re going on instead of talking up some hottie standing by his side on stage? That being said, Sheed Happens with the fiery illiterations, some sturdy, performance-lit punchlines and hitting personals (mostly in round 3) and JC with a gang of fire wordplay, boastful punch work and steely set-ups/similes makes for a dope semifinal bout as well as 3 rounds of competitive heat. But it’s the Michigan vet, slightly more potent and steady with the bars in both rounds 1 and 2, who gets the win here before Sheed saved face and edged the 3rd.

Verdict: JC (W) 2-1

Favorite line: JC – “Give me my flowers when I’m here or you gonna get yours when you’re not!”

Sheed Happens defeats D.O.T.

Recap: D.O.T. wins the funniest line of the night with that ‘A nigga twice my size? that just mean I gotta knock him out twice!’ barb. But in this 1-rounder from Our Society Battle League, it’s the more consistently hitting, action-based and mayhem-lit with the punches Sheed Happens who earns teh win.

Verdict: Sheed Happens (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Sheed Happens – “Hood nigga, Gorilla Zo, this my only banger!”

Tru Foe defeats Sheed Happens

Recap: Stepping up his wordplay throughout the battle, while dishing a gang of mayhem-lit bangers, hard-hitting personals and some spicy anime bars/name flips, outside of a slip-up prone 2nd round that the more meandering/unorthodox stylings of opponent Sheed Happens probably would’ve edged anyway, Tru Foe takes both the opening round and deciding 3rd for the win in this URL SM$ second-round matchup.

Verdict: Tru Foe (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Tru Foe – “They put a price on ya life and all it cost me was a fucking bullet!”

Sheed Happens defeats Murda

Recap: As often as we hear the phrase ‘He’s different!’, it certainly applies to Sheed Happens, who’s steely when need be, unorthodox, cadence-flipping, buttery flow certainly makes him a standout in a sea of formulaic, gun-bar happy rappers. Still, here against the ever bullish, oft-punch heavy and aggressive Murda (solid throughout except for a couple of minor slip-ups) at URL’s UM4, Sheed and his fellow Maryland opponent would put up a competitive fight with Sheed’s often incredulous wordplay and dynamic punch game, coupled with an energetic performance that matched his thrifty polemics allowing him to edge rounds 1 and 2 for the win before a debatable 3rd.

Verdict: Sheed Happens (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Sheed Happens – “Tell yo nosey ass neighbors to go inside, before I spin back with the stick…close ya blinds!”

Sheed Happens defeats G Lowe

Recap: Sheed Happens needs a congregation. Really now as the Maryland rapper’s extra-rich performance, unorthodox punches, excellent storytelling, fierce struggle bars and rigid trap talk could certainly keep a bunch of church folks coming back as much as it can keep a battle rap crowd enlightened. Add to the mix some stirring name flips and after a debatable 1st round (thanks in part to Sheed’s elongated turn), with a spitfire 2nd round coupled with a dope 3rd, Sheed gets the win in this Survivor Series Onyx battle versus a hard-hitting G Lowe, who once again delivered a pretty solid effort (tho he might want to work on his angles and definitely should add more wit to his repertoire), but just couldn’t quite keep up with his opponent’s more versatile and grittier performance.

Verdict: Sheed Happens (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Sheed Happens – “You ever got a nigga with a key on the elevator?, yeah that was wrong on so many levels!”
