Yoshi G. defeats Cheyraq

Recap: From KOTD, Yoshi G. versus Cheyraq turns out to be an altogether fierce, competitive and dope 3-rounder that certainly kept the crowd buzzed throughout. Yoshi with her salacious and unapologetic ‘thot bars’, solid wordplay, gritty punchlines and hitting personals kept it ‘G’ for all 3 rounds. While the underrated Cheyraq flexed her skills with a bunch of hardbody punches, wicked/witty personals and hitting trap talk. And while Yoshi came out with a banging round 1, the more haymaker-lit Cheyraq would take the opener. The latter two rounds, however, would be a different story. As while Cheyraq kept it close with her fiery punches, the Massachusetts battler would succumb to not only some challanges with her flow, but also an opponent who stayed more consistently-lit in both rounds 2 and 3 to come back and earn the win.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “I’m really lit, he gonna pull up gimme some…dick…head on some Philly shit!”

Asi Amora defeats Yoshi G

Recap: From Landslide TV, putting aside battle host Calicoe’s attempt to combine the ethos of the sripper club with battle rap, Asi Amora versus Yoshi G for 3 rounds turns out to not only be a pretty solid battle, but also comes with a mind-twisting ending. Yoshi, for the most part dumping her signature salacious ‘thot bars’ for satisfactory punchlines, braggadocious darts and fancy wordplay here, came to compete. While the up-n-comer Asi, flexed throughout the bout with a versatile mix of hard-hitting street raps, wily/witty personals, piercing hometown lines and righteous punches that scored aplenty. After the slightly more bar-effcient Yoshi edged round 1 and the more haymaker-lit Asi took round 2 to tie things up, round 3 is when things got weird. As the ever eccentric Yoshi, surprisingly bothered by her opponent’s attempt to get extra personal and literally ‘talk to her pussy’, called time on Asi to cut her round a bit short (after both battlers had clearly rapped past 2 minutes in each of their earlier rounds) while claiming later that the two battlers had agreed to 2-minute rounds (something Calicoe would later deny). And what with the slightly more punch-heavy Asi Amora already ahead by the time Yoshi pulled her latest stunt, it’s the Chi-town rapper who takes the 3rd and gets the win here.

Verdict: Asi Amora (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Asi Amora – “I ain’t goota show ass and brag about my sex skills, or tell the whole world that my head vicious, it’s like I’m autistic, ‘cuz I don’t talk a lot, nigga’s just know my brain different!”

Yoshi G and Viixen the Assassin [DEBATABLE]

Recap: No ‘Thot Bars’ or an endgame kiss on the cheek, but Yoshi G versus Viixen The Assassin for 3 rounds on Bullpen Battle League is still a salacious one. Yoshi going after her opponent with a bunch of juicy personals, some solid wordplay and a wide variety of hitting/righteous punchlines, made a show of it. While Viixen, outside of struggling with her flow a bit in round 1, kept it competitive with piercing (“Baby, when we tell you to suck it up, we don’t mean literally!”) darts aimed at Yoshi’s mental health as well as a gang of aggressive punchlines/personals and daunting gun lines. Close throughout, it’s the equally efficient but cleaner-flowing Yohsi who edges round 1, before a way more haymaker-lit Viixen took round 2 to tie things up. Helped by some dope off-the-dome heat to start her 3rd, Yoshi does just enough make the final round debatable in light of a pretty solid turn by Viixen.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “You fat booty bitch, I just know your toilet seats be hella loose!”

40 B.A.R.R.S. and Yoshi G [DEBATABLE]

Recap: From Chrome 23, an intense 3-round battle that featured two fire rounds between a storytelling/wordplay/punchline/personal-lit 40 B.A.R.R.S. and a personal/witty/salacious (“Yeah, I like to suck dick, but you the one that be choking!”) Yoshi G (that they split with 40 taking round 1 and Yoshi taking the 2nd) gets turned upside down when the deeply rooted animosity the two battlers had for each other surfaced in the 3rd. Yoshi surprisngly (after getting off to a pretty solid start) choking away her final round and a clearly frustrated 40 choosing not to spit her last round after an unwitting security guard, oblivious to the nuanced decorum of competitive battling, touched off a tense back-n-forth with 40 for talking a bit while Yoshi rapped in ddition to the Boston vixen arguing with Yoshi (who blamed 40 for her choke) and getting a water bottle thrown at her. And while league-owner Remy Ma, as host of the battle, could’ve attempted to calm things down between 40 and Yoshi so both of them could get their verses off uninterrupted in the 3rd, one wouldn’t upser if these two did a rematch some time down the line.

Verdict: TIE

Favorite line: 40 B.A.R.R.S. – “Bitch, you still want that status only legends is given, you wanted to climb on top and show your ass, reverse-cowgirl, what a clever decision, but you like backshots so why using doggy-style ain’t put you in a better position?!”

Don Ladyii defeats Yoshi G

Recap: While it’s common knowledge that the league didn’t start out that way, but from an aesthetics standpoint it’s still a little weird seeing QOTR putting on a battle that’s not in a boxing ring. That aside, a dope, competitive 3-rounder between Yoshi G and QOTR vet Don Ladyii, what with plenty of salacious sex talk, fiery punchlines/wordplay and piercing personals ends with (after a slightly punch-heavier Yoshi edged round 1 before Don Ladyii returned the favor to edge things up going into the 3rd) another close, hard-hitting and competitive 3rd, but with a slightly cleaner and versatile Don Ladyii edging the final round for the win.

Verdict: Don Ladyii (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Don Ladyii – “You the same bitch that let the state take her kids and blamed it on her mental health…that’s crazy!”

Charlie Clips defeats Yoshi G

Recap: With all the ghostwriting allegations still in the air as well as many feeling that she still hasn’t come close to performing on the level she did during her Tori Doe battle (which saw her leave earth for 3 rounds), can anyone be blamed for doubting whether or not Yoshi G came up with that spitfire 2nd round rebuttal herself? Put me down for $50 stating she did come up with it on her own. For one thing, for all her issues with delivery and execution, Yoshi can still rap and display some dope punches and schemes when needed. Now that we got that out the way, 3-0 Clips. From the hard-hitting/disrespectful personals to the religious disses (capped by a surprising and downright mean cameo appearance from ‘Jesus’ himself in a classic round 2) to the witty barbs to the character assassinations (esp. when it came to the name flips) to a stellar scheme and punchline game, Clips was just on one during this URL Kings vs. Queens 3 match. Couple that with an elongated and mostly dry 2nd round to go along with a 1st and 3rd round by Yoshi that while littered with earnest thot bars and mocking personals, were both topsy-turvy at best and you end up with a shutout.

Verdict: Charlie Clips (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Charlie Clips – “Bitch, I’m extra nice, you tried to disrespect my sex game, got me extra tight, this dick already put you on a new stage, you better respect the pipe!”

Pristavia defeats Yoshi G.

Recap: The 1st battle from Remy Ma’s new Chrome 23 league, Yoshi G. vs Pristavia, turns out for the most part (I don’t know what was up with that light guy being all up in the visuals and battlers face’s) to be a goodie with Yoshi getting her lyrical swerve on to make things competitive while a versatile, punch-heavy and even witty (esp. in round 3) Pristavia more than lived up to the hype (and her recent Gun Titles recruitment) with a trio of fire turns that more than kept the crowd in tune. That said, thanks in part to Yoshi getting her Murda Mook on with 3 elongated rounds that while hitting and thot-provoking at times were each loaded with way too much filler, while her opponent finessed the stage with everything from fire rebuttals to heavy-handed punchlines (esp. during a classic round 1) to fiery Godspeak to piercing name flips/similes to a well-crafted round 3 that flipped the script on anyone who might’ve predicted that the Christian rapper would get preachy with the Thot Queen, this battle would not only amount to a shutout but prove to be Pristavia’s finest outing yet.

Verdict: Pristavia (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Pristavia – “How is she the savage?, one call for a hit and you all will get killed, clip longer than your father’s trip to the store to get milk!”

Yoshi G defeats Lady Caution

Recap: Against a flow-challenged Lady Caution who may need to put as much diligence into her preparation as she does her wardrobe choices, on this No Holds Barred 3 card from URL/QOTR Yoshi G puts forth her most versatile, consistently spicy and pissed off effort ever. Everyone’s favorite thot getting busy from jump with an elongated, but scorching 3 rounds of rigid wordplay, fiery schemes, mocking/biting personals, killer name flips (on Caution and her bf Tay Roc), prideful/salacious thot bars and aggressive/hard-hitting punchlines to land a 30 piece on an opponent she’d long held a grudge against.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “You bitches bore me, ‘You need to stop doing thot bars’, then you out-whore me!”

Krissy Yamagucci defeats Yoshi G.

Recap: In a highly personal and sex-laced Panic Room 3 battle from QOTR that was much closer than the ATL crowd let on, after the two split the first couple of rounds, a more lyrically stunting and slightly more consistently hitting Krissy Yamagucci outlasts the thot bars/schemes from Yoshi G. in the deciding 3rd to edge the win.

Verdict: Krissy Yamagucci (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Krissy Yamagucci – “I was able to level up my pen without using Quantum Physics!?

Drugz defeats Yoshi G

Recap: Pretty emotional and righteous at times, but still competitive Ultimate Madness 3 opening round battle between Yoshi G and Drugz sees the latter go beyond the usual gun bar semantics and wholly address the alleged sexual exploits of his opponent. Whether it was steely lines on protecting his daughter from a wayward lifestyle or ill breakdown’s on Yoshi’s proclivity for thot bars or hard-hitting punchlines dipped in spicy wordplay/real life shit, outside of a near choke in round 3, Drugz had it all here. All the while beating a Yoshi G who while stunted at times with her punches/wordplay and head-ringing/thought-provoking at times with her schemes, could never put it all together with enough consistent heat to avoid getting shutout.

Verdict: Drugz (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Drugz – “You ain’t even think you was gonna win, just wanted to be with 13 nigga’s in a small room!”

Yoshi G defeats Tori Doe

Recap: Punching with superlative conviction for 3 straight rounds while flexing with a boatload of righteous single black mother semantics, piercing/scathing personals, stunted lyrical heaters/schemes, boastful barbs and well-executed wordplay, Yoshi G lessens the thot bar antics for pure emcee idolatry while beating back a snapping, punch-heavy and hitting at times, but a bit personal-redundant and lethargic Tori Doe in what was still a competitive 3-rounder from URL/QOTR’s Watch the Throne 4 card.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “Me swallowing babies, you killing babies, no way you’re matching me!”

Bill Collector defeats Yoshi G

Recap: Both battlers offering righteous rhythms, but also playing the part of charlatan in their bars all the while keeping it entertaining and competitive throughout the battle, in this 3-rounder from URL, Yoshi G and Bill Collector appealed to their fans when it came to providing a lively performance (tho I think Yoshi’s final round kneel-down could’ve played out better). Yet, outside of a versatile/lyrically stunting and sublime 2nd round takedown by Yoshi, it’s a performance/punch-heavier and wittier Bill Collector who takes round 1, before edging the deciding 3rd partly due to some spicy personals to earn the win.

Verdict: Bill Collector (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Bill Collector – “You be trying to fuck all these broke battle rap nigger’s when you shoulda just fucked Smack…bitch, we would’ve been the main event!”

Yoshi G defeats Gucci

Recap: Yoshi G takes part in yet another 1-round Quarantine battle and this time gets a win, consistently unloading some brash thot bars, nifty wordplay and dope angles on a solid and gritty, but not as heavy-hitting Gucci.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “Solid bitch, ten toes down, I’m standing tall, if it wasn’tfor backshots I don;t think I would bend at all!”

Yoshi G and Wooda Black [DEBATABLE]

Recap: Wooda Black and Yoshi G both offer up a couple of pretty solid rounds for this Quarantine battle brought to you from ABR. Wooda, blazing with the fiery (“Snipe you, before Cornona I was good with the distance!”) gun bars and slick set-ups, made for a competitive showing while Yoshi flexed throughout her run with a wide array of piercing punchlines and stinging wordplay to make this one a draw.

Verdict: Debatable

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “I’m not a bitch, this for unity, but if I have to black on Black, I’m a fuck up the community!”

Blve Cocaine defeats Yoshi G

Recap: RBE 1-round Social Distance battle between Blve Cocaine and Yoshi G finds the versatile and performance-heavy Blve talking to Yoshi in a no-nonsense manner via a bunch of fiery punchlines, rich storytelling and salacious personals with creative visuals to match her swag/narrative. On the other hand, a Yoshi who while stunting with the personals and spitting a couple of hot lines, clearly wasn’t trying to get too much in her bag what with a lack of effort during a shortened and topsy-turvy turn.

Verdict: Blve Cocaine (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Blve Cocaine – “We not the same, you been a lame, giving all that head and still don’t use your brain!”

Yoshi G defeats Toni Blanco

Recap: While her 3rd round contained the more grandiose bars, it’s Yoshi G’s 2nd that stands out in this QOTR battle. The sexually brash emcee spouting a host of perfectly-executed punches/set-ups and scorching personals before deftly angling her way into a series of spitfire braggadocio thot bars which altogether summed up her battle rap psyche (a classic round that even earned her a couple of Jaz faces). And while opponent Toni Blanco came through with 3 pretty solid and at times gritty/punch/personal/heavy rounds of her own, one too many dry spots and a more haymaker-lit Yoshi G would give the latter the 30.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 3-0

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “You always speak on the negative aspect of thot…you pessimistic!”

J2 defeats Yoshi G

Recap: Slightly more consistently potent with the bars while snapping with a gang of spicy personals, piercing wordplay, rigid gun bars and righteous punchlines/4-bar setups, J2 edges a dope and punch-heavy but a little less versatile and not quite as hitting turn by Yoshi G in what was still a highly entertaining and competitive 1-rounder from RBE.

Verdict: J2 (W) 1-0

Favorite line: J2 – “Silencer, I’m about to make a hit I’ll never hear…I’m Beethoven!”

C. Bri The Lyricist defeats Yoshi G

Recap: Aside from the unsportsmanlike touching on her opponent, C. Bri The Lyricist’s PG debut on the URL stage couldn’t have went any better. The confident Flint, Michigan emcee putting a hurting on a solid, but flow-challenged Yoshi G with a rich combo of piercing punchlines, stirring bully bars, scathing personals that broke down all the issues with that so-called ‘thot life’ and just in case you forgot her name…a gang of stellar lyrical heat to earn a 30.

Verdict: C. Bri The Lyricist (W) 3-0

Favorite line: C. Bri The Lyricist – “And you can tell by the way that she try bitches, yo she [Yoshi] don’t hang with the right bitches, then nigga’s use you and gas you with fake love, bitch you about as useful an asshole with taste buds!”

Yoshi G defeats OG Prana

Recap: The first official appearance of ‘thot bars’ from a versatile, storytelling-rich, punchline/wordplay-crazy and consistently spicy Yoshi G and an altogether fire, gangsta-lit, punch-heavy and educational, but elongated and dry spot-prone OG Prana allows Yoshi to edge what was a pretty dope and entertaining 1-rounder from Gates of the Garden.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “Every good plan starts out as a thot [thought], bitch!”

Lady J and Yoshi G [DEBATABLE]

Recap: One-rounder that you wish could’ve been three as the fierce, aggressive and bullish bars of Lady J met up with the brainy, punching power of Yoshi G to make for one of the better female battles you’ll see all year. Yoshi, confident (“I smell like money, his dick get hard off my odor!”) as ever, excelled throughout her turn via spitfire wordplay, some of her usual sexcapades and fire set-ups when it came to her punches. While Houston’s Lady J kept the crowd in tuned with a gang of boisterous gun bars, fiery street shit and braggadocio darts to produce an almost equal amount of haymakers and make this one debatable.

Verdict: Debatable

Favorite line: Lady J – “My style been patent leather and that’s a retrospective!”

Yoshi G defeats Furious Styles

Recap: If you’re Furious Styles you gotta be pretty disappointed at that 1st round choke, because those hardbody punchlines, boastful barbs and salacious personals Ms. Styles was kicking in the latter rounds definitely made this battle interesting. Still, even with her opponent making for a solid comeback, Yoshi G still did more than enough to earn this one on her own, dishing 3 straight rounds of fierce 4-bar setups, braggadocio zingers, witty personals and ringing name flips/wordplay to take the first two rounds before a 3rd round debatable.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “Don’t let that burn, Furious Styles gonna die from Tre [.3] pop!”

Yoshi G defeats Diablo

Recap: Plenty of hardbody bars and fiery punches on both sides of this competitive 1-rounder from Iron Mouth Battles. But in the end a more consistently hitting and wordplay-lit Yoshi G gets the win over Diablo.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “Drop a plugged up toaster in the tub while you bathing, now that’s what I call Bath and Body works!”

Yoshi G defeats Tetsho Vintage

Recap: A gang of scurrilous allegations on her personal life by Tetsho Vintage doesn’t stop a punchline-heavy, witty/nasty at times and mayhem-dishing Yoshi G (who also had a dope, mid-turn rebuttal during the 2nd round) from taking the first couple of rounds for the win in this 3-rounder from ABR.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “I had to convince my sister you wasn’t a stud, nigger!”

Yoshi G defeats Ladii Tunez

Recap: Punch-heavy, name flip-scoring and lyrically-lit without too much of the usual raunch during the first couple of rounds, a more condensed and direct with the bars Yoshi G gets a well-earned (score round 3 a debatable) win over a solid and pen-sharp at times, but not as consistently spicy Ladii Tunez in this 3-rounder from Bar4Bar Rap Battle League.

Verdict:  Yoshi G (W) 2-1

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “Put a shell in your back, I think Ladii [lady] bugged!”

Yoshi G defeats Cell

Recap: Such a nice, young lady…not. 1-rounder from Atlanta Battle Raps sees a raucous Yoshi G go off on opponent Cell with a consistent barrage of piercing name flips, hitting punchlines, gung-ho personals and fiery 4-bar setups to handily beat back a solid-punching, but unspectacular effort from her opponent.

Verdict: Yoshi G (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Yoshi G – “I got more testicles than you Cell, I move like a nigga move, pop rockets by my clit, shit, those my genitals!”

Swavatar Jack defeats Yoshi G

Recap: In this 1-rounder from AHAT ATL, a slick-talking, wordplay-lit and boastful punching Swavatar Jack barely breaks a sweat in beating back a hitting and raunchy at times, but slip-up prone Yoshi G for the win.

Verdict: Swavatar Jack (W) 1-0

Favorite line: Swavatar Jack – “Swav, bitch I pack a toolie, a mack, a little Uzi, off ya set, since you think you bad and bourgie!”
